I have a friend who may be in town next week for work and he has just recently joined the Broadway fanatic club, he wants to see two shows next week. The Book of Mormon is at the top of the list. There are lots of $69/$79 (plus fees) tickets available.
I do know that I saw it from standing room in 2012 and had a very good time. I saw it again last year from front Orchestra on tour and had a fricking amazingly hilarious time. So I think Im steering him away from the mezzanine plus some of those views from aviewfrommyseat.com look a million miles away. Also the $69 partial view front right and left orchestra seats look iffy. He doesnt want to spend more than $80-100 including all fees. Im thinking of steering him toward a $69 box seat. Thoughts? Are some better than others? I want him to have an amazing time. Is there more than one right and left box? On Ticketmaster, it just says LFTBOX ROW B (or C) or RGTBOX ROW B (or C).
There is always the lottery? I'm not sure how that has changed, if at all, since they closed down the in-person lottery, but that used to get you in the front row on the cheap, and fairly easy. But digital may not be as easy to win, ironically? There are also Twitter seats, but I don't know where those typically are. If the box seats don't sell out, those might be a worth a try and then just grab them if he loses?
Also, Jujamcyn lotteries often offer lottery loser codes, so might be worth seeing if that is the case. Just enter for the next lottery and see if they do? If it's during the week and there is availability, they might throw a code out there.
He never wins lotteries. We found him great a front orchestra seat ($99) and box seat ($69). What are the loser codes worth? I think he’ll go ahead and buy if his work travel for next week gets approved tomorrow.
Back in 2011 I sat in the box seat (won the in-person lottery but we were the last one called so we got the box seats instead of the front row.) Technically box seat is partial view since you miss the sides but while there I didn't feel like I missed anything. I've done SRO for Book of Mormon before and between sitting in the box and SRO, I prefer the box seats.
My friend who I went with definitely preferred the box seats since he's quite tall and you can adjust the legroom in the box (they're actual chairs).
