February/March Trip Advice - Ferryman Casting, Kiss Me Kate vs. My Fair Lady

Hi Everyone,

I was looking to plan a trip to NYC in February or March and am having a slight dilemma. The Ferryman is one of the top shows I'd like to see while I'm in town and I just saw the news of the casting changes taking effect on Feb 19th. I feel like I'd like to see it with the original cast (though the new cast does look pretty good too), but also was interested in seeing Kiss Me Kate as well. Obviously, I know Kiss Me Kate hasn't started yet to provide me with actual opinions on the show, but my question to you is this...do I:

a. Plan my trip for early February and see The Ferryman with the original cast, swapping out Kiss Me Kate for My Fair Lady or...

b. Plan my trip for late Feb/early March and see The Ferryman with the new cast and also see Kiss Me Kate

The other shows I'm planning to see are Network, Alice by Heart, and Superhero as I'd have space for five shows in total.

Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated since I'm hoping to start booking travel/tickets by the end of the week!

Seems like your answer hangs on how badly you want to see the original cast, a very personal preference.

I personally really enjoyed this original cast. Emmensely even. Of course we have no idea how the new cast will perform, although it seems impressive. Either way I think you'll be happy, because it is such a well written play. Enjoy your trip!
