Just read Side Man for the first time and loved it! Did anyone here see the original production? Time for a revival? Toni Collette for Terry, perhaps? Questions, questions, questions ...

YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES

This is my favorite play and Frank Wood gave the best performance onstage that I have ever seen. It’s been 20 years and it is most definitely time for a revival. I know every word to this play and would give anything to see another full production of it.

This show is on my "shows I've always wanted to see" list, although it doesn't seem it's produced much regionally.  Does it have special requirements that limit the ability to have local productions?  The cast is pretty small.  Does someone have to be able to play an instrument, or are there other requirements?

Edie was fabulous....people don’t realize she only did off broadway and then made the decision to do something for tv instead of open on broadway where she probably would have won a tony award. She did close the show after the play won the tony and ended up randomly being in the video they captured for the performing arts library. Go see it!
