demarius copes as well. i feel like he’s the one dealing with this the most because he’s really good friends with ben (don’t act like he’s not the one they’re all asking for) which absolutely sucks because he’s so good at what he does. still doesn’t excuse him for going on instagram live to talk badly about the new york times reviewers for KING KONG

Who is Ben?"
ben cook is a member of the mean girls ensemble. he’s most known because he played racetrack higgins on tour and in newsies live. tons of fans are obsessed with him. they say things like “my baby!” “my boyfriend”, “MY PRECIOUS BEAN!”. i once had someone say he was a “poor innocent boy” despite the fact he’s a grown man.
the fans ignore other members of the ensemble (repeatedly asking for him at stagedoor and ignoring ensemble), send fan mail to ensemble with gifts for him, ask for them during instagram lives to see ben, etc.
demarius copes is one of his good friends as they did the newsies tour together and because the newsies and mean girls fandoms cross, they know he’s friends with him. anytime something like that happens, he gets visibly upset. and he’s super talented and it’s sad he gets forgotten.
being active in that fandom, the stan culture is really toxic there. although, it’s a rose garden compared to the be more chill fandoms *shudders*
So for the cast that doesn't stage door to they just wait it out for all the fans to leave or, do they take the backdoor out. I'm pretty sure the super fans would have already figured out where the backdoor is by now so, the cast probably has to sneak out now.
In regards to the fans asking ensemble members for principals' autographs, sadly this has been going on for awhile, and it saddens me to hear that it is still going on. If I see Mean Girls again (a big if), I will not be going to the stage door. I feel so sorry for that cast, and I want them to get the peace and rest they deserve.

THIS.
It's sadly because we're living in a culture where it's frowned upon for parents to say no to their kids. Or hell, for anyone to say no to kids. I have a friend who worked at a day camp this past summer, and the camp staff was literally not allowed to say no to the kids. It's deplorable.
I've also witnessed at various shows the act of a parent standing at the front of the barricade while waiting for their kid to come out and take their spot- a couple of things, 1- rude in all ways, especially when u think it's ok for your kid to come through 6 rows of people waiting patiently and disturb the rest of us, you're not entitled to facetime with any actor, 2- are u leaving during the curtain call to race out and get a spot? Again, rude the time to show your appreciation for their 2.5 hrs of busting their ass is during the curtain call not at the stage door- I'd rather a standing O when I leave my desk and not facetime because u need a signature after I'm off the clock- because again, I just want my bed and I don't belt may face and dance may ass off for a living, and 3- are u not seeing the show with your child? Ushers are not babysitters. This isn't a rated R movie where mom buys the tickets to get u in, this is the theatre, respect for the art is required so is a check on your kid's behavior that doesn't come from an usher or fellow theatre goer- they are there to do their jobs/enjoy the show not babysit. In short, teach respect not entitlement and if you really want a memory that isn't merely self serving this time of year, how about splurge on the signed Playbill from BCEFA and give back to those in need- we see the bag with the $70 sweatshirt, so...
super late I know you already saw the show, but this is for anyone who's thinking of stagedooring for mean girls in the future. I have seen the show three times and I have never had a problem with pushing or rude people. all the cast members really take their time with you. when they come and and sign my playbill I always ask 'can I tell you something real quick' and I really do make it real quick. treat them with respect and they'll be so grateful. remember they're people too!!
