I saw The Boys in the Band on Saturday and absolutely loved it! Excellent cast. I also really liked the music that was played during the show but I can't seem to remember all of the songs. Does anyone remember which tracks were played? Also, I liked the music playing in the theatre prior to the show. If anyone can name a few tracks i'd appreciate it!
I don't know all of the song titles, but two of the pre-show songs are "Dancing In The Street" (Martha & The Vandellas) and "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" (not sure who sings that particular version of the song, but it's the last one before the lights go down). During the show, there's "I Say A Little Prayer" (Aretha Franklin), "Heat Wave" (Martha & The Vandellas), and "This Guy's In Love With You" (Herb Alpert). The rest of the songs I'd recognize if I heard them, but unfortunately I don't know them by title or artist. I hope I was helpful and didn't just name all the songs you already knew.
This was really helpful! Thanks. I recognized the songs but couldn’t quite remember what was played or the title/artist. Here’s another one that was played prior to the show... Twenty Five Miles - Edwin Starr. I remembered that one.
I’m not home to look at the Playbill but song credits must be included somewhere in the Playbill. This is a requirement. Same way ALL song credits are listed during a film’s end credits. They paid for the rights to use them so composer/lyrics/artist credit must be stated.

Good suggestion! I’ll check my Playbill tonight! Thanks.

That's a good question - it almost sounds like the singer is just reading the lyrics, not actually singing them. I'm searching for it but haven't found anything yet.
