I'm a season subscriber to the touring house in my city. We're getting On Your Feet at the end of the month, which I have a ticket for as part of my subscription. We're also getting the new tour of Les Mis towards the end of the year, which is being presented as a "bonus show" and is not included in the subscription, but can be swapped into. I've heard mostly negative things about On Your Feet, and have heard very little about this incarnation of Les Mis. Is it worth swapping my ticket for Les Mis?

For what it's worth, I don't dislike Estefan's music for the most part, but don't consider myself much of a fan either. I have never seen Les Mis on stage (gasp! I know), though have seen the movie and love the score.

Thanks in advance for any opinions/guidance.

I saw the pre-Broadway tryout for On Your Feet! and I just saw the tour of Les Mis on Tuesday.

If I had to choose, I would choose Les Mis. The theatre was sold out and the entire audience was spellbound by the production. With On Your Feet, there were quite a few fans of Gloria in the show, but I felt as if it was just fan service. They made it seem like Gloria has never committed a sin in her life.

Either way, I hope you have a fun time!

This is a tough one since both shows are so different! Having seen On Your Feet! on Broadway and the current revival of Les Miserables that is now touring, though, my vote would be On Your Feet!. I personally think this new production of Les Miserables is terribly designed and poorly directed.

Just saw the Les Mis tour at the end of September and loved it, so another vote there.

I saw the current Les Mis tour last week and it was  really great actually and my group loved it. (I have not seen On Your Feet.)

I saw Les Miz decades ago, when I often had to be dragged to musicals, and I didn't really care for it. But our balcony seats were awful. I do want to give it another chance, whenever it turns up.

I can't speak to On Your Feet! It doesn't interest me at all, but that's not useful advice for you.

I saw On Your Feet in Orlando on Wednesday.  I really enjoyed it, but I am a fan of Gloria and her music.  I don't think you would like it if you don't consider yourself a fan.  Can't disagree more with the statement "they made it seem like Gloria never committed a sin in her life".

I saw On Your Feet last night in Orlando. Talented cast, outstanding choreography, but ultimately not much there. It’s a slick, well-packaged Jerry Mitchell production but it’s a still a jukebox show and the book is absolutely horrendous. I agree with the statement above that the book all but deifies her.

I haven’t seen this tour of Les Miz so I can’t speak to it’s quality, but Les Miz is a far superior musical.
