Hi everyone,

I am new to this chat board, but I love hearing so much great information!!

I was wondering about the size of the seats for the theater that shows Hamilton.  I have a family member that is large in stature and I was wondering if anyone had insight into the size of the seats and whether they would accommodate a larger frame?  Are the seats in the boxes just chairs or are they stadium seats with built in arms?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Amanda

The box seats have single chairs in them, the view is somewhat limited though. I can't comment on the regular seats, as I've sat in the box only. How big are we talking? There's a difference in comfort depending on size for sure. As always, look for aisle seats, to have at least some space on one side.

As someone who is 6'8 and 340lbs, I fancy myself an authority on Broadway theatre seat comfort.

I sat in the orchestra for Hamilton and was on an aisle. There was enough leg room for me and also the seat was wide enough where it didn't pinch my hips. Granted, by nature, these seats aren't always the most comfortable in terms of butt padding, but I'll be damned if this wasn't one of my better seating experiences.

If you're not on a aisle, leg room at the Rodgers is pretty limited in general. I haven't sat in the front orchestra, so I can't speak to that. But I have sat in the "stadium seating" area of the back half of the orchestra. The sight lines are great, because you can clearly see over the person in front of you, but the leg room is lacking.

I have sat in the boxes, and they are very roomy. As LushyBear said, the seats are not fixed, so you can move them around. However, it is partial view, and if you're in the upper boxes, you're looking down on the performers' heads. So I recommend the four lower boxes only. And it will be tough finding boxes in Ticketmaster.

Another option for a tall person is the first row of the REAR mezzanine. That row is behind a railing, and a curtain hangs off the railing. So you can put your feet under the curtain and have all the leg room you need!

I brought a friend who is 6'1 and 300 pounds, he was fine. Just he needed the aisle. We sat in the back of the orchestra on the aisle

I definitely WOULDN'T recommend the mezzanine seats, though the front row might be fine as someone mentioned. I found these seats to be the smallest in an Broadway theater. I'm a fairly small person and when I sat down I immediately thought "Oh, well this is snug." I rented out my seat space to the elbows of the people on either side of me.

My wife even said that if there was ever a show that she was going to see in the Rogers to remind her horrible it was so she wouldn't go. Of course, I don't picture seeing anything but Hamilton there for the next decade or so!

I'm 6' 265lbs and I've sat in the middle of the row at the Rodgers in the orchestra and mezzanine without any problems.  I can keep my body between the two armrests and my knees off the back of the seat in front of me.  To me that basically means I can fit lol.
