Anyone know how easy it is to get same day tickets for these two shows, either at TKTS or at the box office? These are two of the five shows I hope to see when I'm in New York City in November. The other shows seem like they will be fairly easy to secure tickets to on the day of (with the exception of Dear Evan Hansen which I have already purchased a ticket for). I don't usually pre-purchase a lot of tickets in case I have to cancel my trip. So I usually buy through TKTS or the box office on the day of.

I see that Hello Dolly is often listed at the TKTS booth, but I'm not sure if that is usually on the days that Bette is not playing. Nothing against Donna Murphy, but I really want to see Bette, if I can.

Also, although I have seen some spectacular shows by standing in line for a SRO or rush tickets, I'm not interested in doing that this time as I have a limited time in New York City and don't want to spend a lot of it standing in lines.

Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

Yeah,,,Dolly with Bette is not on TKTS. There are barely any tickets left on Ticketmaster for her run - you will need to buy those in advance and frankly be lucky to find availability at all. Donna plays Tuesdays.

I just checked and of course you were correct. Only tix available during my trip are Premium and start at $500+. My trip also doesn't include a Tuesday so seeing it with Donna Murphy isn't even an option.  Looks like I'll be paying the hotel concierge through the nose when I get there to see Hello Dolly! like I did for Hamilton although these prices make my Ham ticket seem like a bargain now. Not willing to spend that much money upfront right now.

Thanks for your help. Think I'll be okay buying same day for Come From Away?

Come From Away is selling extremely well and I don't think it's been on TKTS at all.

Last-minute non-premium ($199-$229) tickets for Dolly! with Bette have been popping up on Telecharge pretty regularly. For example, there are several great $229 orchestra seats for tonight's show available on there right now. Since it sounds like you're willing to wait until the day of, that will probably be your best and cheapest option. Just keep checking Telecharge as the date approaches, and don't believe the people that say it's practically impossible to get tickets. It's very possible, and, in my opinion, not difficult at all if you know how to look for them.

Are you stating that your hotel concierge will be able to get tickets for Hello Dolly CHEAPER than on Telecharge?

The Dolly ticket, in my opinion, is so worth it. MAYBE tickets will open up on the date, but I couldn't be sure.

Also, I know this isn't the subject of your post, but I saw Come from Away and Hello, Dolly on the same day and it was one of the best days of my life! Just thought I'd like to share that you will LOVE these shows!

Wow. That's great. I'll keep checking. If one of those tickets pop up, I'll go ahead and purchase ahead of time . I did go ahead and buy a ticket for Come From Away. Thanks.

"Thanks for this info.  I thought it was a lost cause.  Can't go tonight, but just saw a great seat in Row K Orchestra for $229.  Someone should grab it.

Just wondering how "last minute" last minute is. I've decided I'm willing to pre-purchase if I can get a non-premium orchestra seat for Hello Dolly!, but I'm kinda driving myself crazy checking Telecharge multiple times per hour (I'm aware it's not last minute for November tix, but I'm kinda OCD). Also, wondering if tickets aren't available in the morning, do they ever pop up later in the day or is it pretty much a bust for that day?  Thanks for your assistance.

Okay. The uncertainty was killing me. I bought a premium ticket for Friday, November 10th. It'll mean shifting a dinner reservation and spending more than I wanted, but at least now I won't spend the next three months stressing over whether I'll get a ticket. Of course, my wallet is $413 lighter. Please tell me Orchestra, Row J, Seat 12 is a very good seat. The two glasses of wine I'd imbibed may have played  a part in me pushing the purchase button. Bette, this gay boy (okay, older man) is gonna finally see you in this spectacular production. So happy! But seriously, how is the view from my seat?

Thanks! Now that I've secured tickets for Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, and Hello Dolly! (the holy trifecta) for my trip, maybe I can relax.  Hopefully I can get tix for my other two shows (Waitress, The Band's Visit) through TKTS or the box office while I'm there. So excited! Who says wine doesn't spur great decisions? LOL
