I'm traveling from the U.S to London May 29 - June 2. I was SO excited to purchase tickets to see Imelda Staunton! She's practically my favorite actress, I was blown away by her Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd.

I just found i'm missing the production by two days!!!! I'm so disheartened! Is there ANY chance that this will extend? I need the theatre Gods to smile upon me on this one!!!!

What are my chances?

Highly unlikely. Staunton begins performances in Follies in August so will likely begin rehearsals not long after the closing. Hamlet starts around 2 weeks after V Woolf closes.

So I'm missing her in not only an Albee classic, BUT ALSO  a Sondheim Classic?!?!?!?!?

My day has gone from depressing to contemplating suicide. Yes, that is hyperbole, but I'm very sad about this.

Thanks for your response!!

The good news they are filming it for National Theater Live, so you will get to see it in movie theaters

You can watch it in movie theatres. Not sure when it will be shown in US but in Canada cineplex is showing it May 18. I'm a fan of  Imelda too but from the videos I saw of her in Gypsy it seemed to me like she was overdoing it, at least in Rose's Turn. She seemed ot think every word and  gesture had to be underlined three times for the audience to get it, when the number itself was already so strong without needing extra. I'm hoping her Martha is a little less showy...but I will definitely be there to see her in this play!
