considering the grosses, fail and flail are absolutely interchangable lol

The thing is, besides being an utter toad of a human being, Riedel usually has the least knowledge of the topic in the room. He doesn't usually understand the content or approach of a show, and is always completely and unfailingly socially ignorant, which makes it really infuriating when Susan can't get a word in edgewise. A definitive mansplainer; it's always painful when he has female guests. I watch the show sporadically when I really want to see a guest, because it's the only theatre talkshow we have, but it would be so much better without this hateful clown in a dadcoat. Scored 9 th row center orchestra seats at TKTS Friday morning.. $75.00 ...  a great deal in my opinion. I enjoyed the show and would see it again

Saw this production for the second time yesterday, and found the staging and performances to be even better. All of the leads were superb.  And I thought Alex Wyse's performance was stellar as well.  What a voice.  I will miss this show when it is gone.

When I went to see the show last Tuesday, I tried lottery but couldn't get it (it wasn't packed though...around 50 people for 28 seats). After the draw, they offered tickets for the "losers" at $59 and I will say I was kinda glad I did lose because the seat I got was GREAT... Row J, Center Orchestra, on the left aisle! I personaly prefer it over first row, and at the end of the day paying just an extra 20 bucks compared to lottery tickets was worthy. Loved this production much more than the original which didn't have a big impact on me at the time. I'm glad I was able to catch it!

Was hoping that Late Night performance would move a few tickets. It just came on and oh my God, was that awkward in every possible way. The performance and filming. Ouch.

I didn't think it was a bad performance, but thought the song selection wasn't correct. A missed opportunity, that's for sure.

Yeah... I think the song choice wasn't right. I guess something like "The Bitch Of Living" is the sort of energetic number that would translate well on TV, but I guess they wanted a number that would feature the entire cast. Other than that, the camera work was pretty bad...

I loved this production, I totally agree it's a very powerful one, it's very sad to me that it's not selling out every show.  It definitely deserves more attention.

I won the lottery this afternoon. Very few people trying to win tickets. Even less on Wednesday afternoon (almost everyone won - I was one of the few losers).

This was my second time seeing it. First time I was all the way in the back, and I didn't get as emotionally invested as I wanted to. The show is infinitely better up close. You need to see the facial expressions of the deaf actors.

I saw the original production three times with various casts. This Wendla was by far the best actress I have seen in the role. And the chemistry between the two leads was incredible. So glad I went back for a second try. :)

How full was the theater if you don't mind me asking?

I didn't see up to the mezz, but I believe that the sides of the rear orchestra were empty.

seriously Hulu / NBC **** you for restricting the Seth Meyers performance to U.S. citizens!

You're really in college and can't sort out how to illegally download a TV show?!

of course I know how to torrent. But why would I waste time and space on my hard disk torrenting  a full episode when I only want five minutes out of it?

You watch it, you delete it. Pretty easy. And your time? You can do other things while it is downloading, heh...

Not sure why the show failing is such a big surprise. I myself (and probably lots of others) are spring awakeninged out. The original  show had a short but large fan base of teenagers that worshiped this show like it was the next RENT. They probably would rather keep their memories of the original show rather than be subjected to a new interpretation.

I honestly can't bring myself to see this production. I saw the original production many times and just don't have the motivation anymore  to sit through teenagers jumping up and down and singing lyrics that don't make any sense.

The deaf aspect is very cool and intriguing, but not enough to get me to pay tickets to a show I've seen 10 times.

I also think Andy Mientus is somewhat of a tool. So there's that....

I can't speak to why it isn't gaining traction, but it was a pretty exquisite experience. I plan to see it again before it (and maybe I) leave town soon...

You HAVE to watch this production.  The cast is superb and it feels like an entirely new show.  I myself was doubtful of the ASL aspect, but I felt that it added so much depth to the show.

I can't recommend this show enough

@Hamilton22

so I gather you were a teen who saw it many times and now are a jaded 20-something? The way you write about it reminds me of how my 6 year old nephew disparages his 3 year old brother's interest in Thomas the Train with some "been there done that" attitude.

Firstly, the scope of interest in the show can hardly be described as teen-based. Read the friggin reviews.

Secondly, if you think the show consists of "teenagers jumping up and down and singing lyrics that don't make any sense" then you obviously didn't retain much from those 10 times seeing it.

It sounds like the show is over your head, but I agree with others that seeing this version has nothing whatsoever to do with having seen (or not) the original version.

Totally agree with Hamilton but why see it over and over again if you did not like it. Just curious.

Hamilton saw the original 10X, not sure how that constitutes not liking it.
