I checked out dar.fm, but while WFMT was a station listed, Carousel wasn't an offering. (when I looked last night) Still hoping it might be an option Sunday!

I do think it looks like a glorious production--one I wish I could see or was being filmed.
But I can't resist commenting that it looks like Ashford found a way to get his *constant* Fosse men shoe-horned into it. I might have almost been a bit kinda sorta disappointed if he hadn't...

gleek4114, were you watching? Yea she said they might take the Broadhurst, even though that seems too small for Carousel, specially this production which looks huge, granted its in an opera house. She also said theres rumors about Mamma Mia going to New World Stages. Who knows

I saw the show this afternoon and it was absolutely stunning. Stephen Pasquale was particularly incredible and his soliloquy was so moving and completely brought the house down.

Can Pasquale actually act? He looks so soap opera I have a hard time believing he would actually be able to handle the dramatic heft of the role. It's not an easy character to play by any means, and requires much more than a good voice.

Fantod, Did you see Steven Pasquale in Bridges of Madison County? I thought his acting was really wonderful and moving... and his voice was to die for too.

I can't speak for this show, but the first thing I ever saw him in was when I saw Bridges last year, and I was very moved by his performance. Kelli was blowing me away, and he was right in line with her. Especially the more dramatic, heart wrenching parts at the end, he was giving me chills and making me cry.

Who else was there yesterday? Come on, Chicagoans, we are dying to hear your comments. We're flying in from New York in two weeks just to see this, thrilled to see Pasquale get his next big chance. His performance and singing in BRIDGES, even though ignored by the Tony committee, were amazing.

A concert version of Carousel starring Kelli O'Hara and Nathan Gunn with the New York Philharmonic was broadcast only two years ago as a Live at Lincoln Center.
They won't be doing it again so soon.

I have my tickets for the 23rd. I know a lot of people who are making it down town for this production. It seems to be a hot ticket.

On a side note, the rumors of a transfer really are running rampant. Perhaps I am wrong and it is worth holding your breath after all. Here is another article discussing it. Looks like the article is trying to stir the pot and create some drama about the casting of New York actors too.
