I have found a link online that is claiming to be the libretto for "Cabaret". I'm am not 100% familiar with the stage script, can someone who is more familiar with the show let me know how legitimate this version is? Thanks!
I am in possession of an original script book from Cabaret from Broadway New York 1966. Inside are directives to the cast, written in pencil as stated on front cover.
I have no idea what this could be worth, just looking for some direction please as I have had it a while and it it just placed in a draw.
Last year I did a reconstruction of what the “Director’s Cut” of the libretto would look like, piecing together every non-duplicate bit of the four major canonical stage versions: 1966, 1987, 1998 and 2006.
Which I followed up with a version based on that which also took the liberty of restoring the three-act construct from the 1966 out-of-town tryout to give all of that room to breathe.
Out of curiosity, how did the three-act structure flow in terms of intermission placement and song placement? Act 2 has always been lighter in terms of musical numbers, even with "I Don't Care Much" added back in.
The third act in the director’s cut would have at least one additional song in, the dream sequence medley of “Why Should I Wake Up/I Don’t Care Much” which is known as “Transition” in the 2006 version.
All I wanted peeps was a answer to my question please. I have a prompt book that has been written in with pencil with directives from the producer (I guess). It is a dark red fronted book with....

You have a prompt book that was used during a licensed production. It has no connection to the broadway production. It's worth nothing. First Class Productions (Broadway/Tour) do not use those.
Honestly-- it was against the law to keep it and not return it to Tams after that production was over.
