I had the chance to see the Jersey Boys first national tour in DC late last year... I'd never given the show any thought before seeing it, but it was one of the greatest productions I've ever seen. The guy playing Frankie has been with the tour almost five years, and just announced he'll be departing the tour in August. If anyone lives in Portland, Oregon, I'd highly recommend you check him out in his last few weeks in the role! Any word on who may be replacing him? :) I'm sure most don't follow this tour... but I got kind of obsessed after seeing it in DC.

I've been following the Jersey Boys First National Tour ever since I first saw Jersey Boys in DC in 2009. The cast has changed a lot since then, but the quality has always been top notch -- I actually prefer this cast to the Jersey Boys Broadway cast. As for Joseph Leo Bwarie, I agree that he is fabulous! His departure is a tough loss for the tour. I have no idea who will be replacing him, but I'm hoping it will be John Michael Dias, who was the 2-show Frankie in the Jersey Boys Chicago cast and then was the 2-show Frankie for a year and a half in the tour cast. He, too, is an excellent Frankie.

I've wondered for years why John Michael Dias was never bumped up to the 6-show Frankie. He's incredible.
