I know that this is a silly idea for a thread so if you do not approve, please don't comment on how dumb this thread is
hypothetically, predict when current Broadway shows will close (these are just guesses)
Wicked, never??? The Lion King, never??? Jersey Boys, 2020 The Phantom of the Opera, 2018 The Book of Mormon, 2016 Spider-Man, 2014 Mamma Mia!, 2014 Evita, 2014 Chicago 2013 Nice Work If You Can Get It, September 2013 Memphis, end of 2012, early 2013 Anything Goes, September 2012 Ghost, September 2012
Memphis - Fall 2012 Book Of Mormon - 2016 Wicked - 2018 Lion King - 2018 Phantom Of The Opera - 2014 Jersey Boys - 2015 Mamma Mia - 2013 Chicago - 2013 Nice Work If You Can Get It - 2013 Ghost- Summer 2012 Evita - 2013
Think Mempis will make it until Pascal and Glover contract ends in October. I don't believe "Book Of Mormon" is one of theose "iconic" type shows so another fours years sounds right. It seems hard to think "Wicked" would ever close but I think it is showing a little sign of slowing down and is rarely at 100% anymore. Giving it another 6 yrs which would still be a amazing run. I feel the same way with "Lion King" as "Wicked". "Phantom" has had to do creative marketing and price discounts for years and believe it may be time to move on at the Majestic after 26 years. I am actually surprised "Jersey Boys" lasted this long, was not sure how it would do after the amazing original cast left. Three more years seems reasonable to me for this show. As for the new shows, don't see a long run for any of them unless word of mouth can't overcome the reviews.
