Am I right in thinking this is usually just done at the start of the year? If so, presumably an attempt to encourage theatre going during the Olympics??
It is normally done for start of the year, so very surprised to see this done in the Summer holidays, even though the Olympics are happening, I would of thought August be a very busy time for families. Coincidentally this scheme starts a whole month before the Olympics.
Shows up you for grabs, that are not on TKT's are Lion King, Wicked, Singin' In The Rain. wink wink Clapyo'hands.
The credit card has taken a hammering today with this and public booking for the NT opening today. I now have most of my shows booked for my August London trip.
Kids week is on - they sent out a email early on in the year to say they would be offering tickets for the whole of August but presume booking will still start from June/July.
Its good to see the offers but as per Princeton returns says some of the seats are pretty bad view evan at the the lower price - either very front or very back row - checking some seats they were all red flagged on theatremonkey.com.
But its good they launch before the Olympics brings everything to a standstill so may and try and pop up before the 26th July d day
The Lion King's selection isn't great in comparison to the others, Singin' in the Rain which I've used GILT before offered me Row B which is the splash area.
Didn't Billy Elliot have a summer sale from offering £20-40 tickets for Monday-Thursday performances? May be the reason why they're not offering not so good seats for GILT.
But then it is See Tickets who are the agent, so its their allocations and they are never good for Ghost, BE, and Lion King really so I guess it makes sense
I got Row K for singin in the rain, slightly off centre stalls
