I knew the new album wasn't going to get play in the gay clubs after my stint working with the youngsters this year. It was clear there was nowhere for Madonna to fit among that which gets the kids on the dance floors now.
I didn't like Bedtime Stories when it first was released, tried to listen to it a few times but didn't care for it. And then, this former model and fashion photographer I was having a mad affair with put it on as background music for a night of intimate experiences and it was then that I realized exactly how perfectly it had been designed for just such a thing.
I think Bedtime Stories is underrated. It showed what Madonna could do when she embraced a genre that was unexpected of her. It opened up R&B and artist like Babyface to the larger public. And it had a bunch of great songs on it, too.
"Hey little girls, look at all the men in shiny shirts and no wives!" - Jackie Hoffman, Xanadu, 19 Feb 2008
lol Namo, of course its playing in the clubs, that's why her singles are charting high on the club charts because they are getting played in the clubs. The problem is the singles are not getting played on the radio.
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
It will mainly be the huge video screens (i think they are the biggest ever created for a concert) but a few set pieces like the motel room seem to be something she has not done for a long time.

Maybe that will be next summer's big hit single? Sheesh, remember when Madonna was never a day late and a dollar short the way she has been every step of the way this product cycle?
TURN UP THE RADIO will be released worldwide Monday July 17th with a package bundle of remixes and edits along with the world premiere video available on itunes.
Quite a link, taboo. Apparently the writer has never heard "Hello," Or is pretending to have never heard "Hello."
And I didn't realize "ageism" is the all-purpose excuse people are tossing around, I thought it was something songanddman thought up and kept bring up again and again.
At the barbershop today, I read a Rolling Stone from the spring that had Paul McCartney on the cover. It was interesting to read the thoughts of the then-69 year old icon. He spoke of how sad he was that the downside of The Beatles and other British invasion bands becoming the fashion, was that composers like Harold Arlen were done for in the early-'60s. Madonna benefitted PLENTY from pop music's 25 year focus on youth when she came around. There were plenty of established strong female writer/singer/musicians her ascent eclipsed. So, it's hard for me to get too worked up with sympathy for her. There is no reason she can't do creative and interesting things (during the article McCartney detailed finishing up his standards album and immediately started work on a rock album).
But no, unlike the countless role models before her who kept on evolving, Madonna's dropping her pants and singing in a baby voice.
"Turn Up The Radio" vaults twenty positions up to No. 19 this week, earning the Greatest Gainer designation. "Turn Up The Radio" is the Queen's incredible 60th entry on the Dance/Club Play Chart! The breezy summer track could become Her Majesty's record-extending 43rd No. 1, following the recent No. 1 MDNA dance tracks, "Give Me All Your Luvin'" and "Girl Gone Wild."
Tab, did you ever think it would come to linking supportive articles about Madonna that included this line? "I, for one, think that the song is awful -- it grates a bit and the lyrics could be called a dumb person's idea of smart."
Also, didn't somebody use that phrase around here? Was it me? Jordan? Mister Matt?
I thought it was dead on in so many ways. I also agreed with the opinion of the the song 'Nobody Knows Me' too- so it's not a surprise. I think many did. But I thought it was an article that really penetrates the Gaga thing well. Yes,... penetrates.
Okay, so he went a bit overboard.. But at least somebody finally called her out on her subpar recent output in the press. Now, will it make her more determined to prove him/other naysayers wrong, or will she take his advice?
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
