I just hope we get another musical very soon that has the courage to use 400 songs and only sing 10 seconds from each of them.

I would post memories, but the problem is I saw it and remember so very little of it. It was just such a non-event in my book. Not even bad enough to hate and say how awful it was. Just there and forgotten by the time I reached the subway to head home.

I remember, against my better judgment, finally going to see this disaster on the premise that, "Beth Leavel is always good." I remember arriving to the theater and finding out that at this performance the role played by Beth Leavel would be played by Allison Cimmett. I remember watching the show and thinking, "Beth Leavel wouldn't be able to save this show."

Truly one of the most excruciating things to sit through.

"400 songs and only sing 10 seconds from each of them."

That's exactly what cruise ship shows do.

So sad how much I am enjoying this post!!!

Am sad to see that Baby its you was such an utter bomb!! Had no desire to see it and said to myself...well if it last a year ill probably give in and see it eventually!! Clearly was not meant to be!

Anyone know if it is planning a tour...as big of a joke that sounds Im always shock of some shows that get tours! From what I hear sounds itll play well on a Carnivale Cruise Ship!!

Hope Beth Leavel finds something more worth of her talent...and she better fire whoever told her that this would be a great show to do!!!!!

Seriously wish the cast all the best and should I expect a revival in 15 years or so???

I remember how all the people who refused the offer to be wined and dined on Blogger Night snuck out during curtain call (see: ran for the alley as fast as possible) and laughed our asses off at how horrible the show was. Memories.

Jordan, that's my favorite part of the show, too. I like when 9 different people sang the same song in one minute, only none were in the same room at the same time in the same state or even the same year. The orchestra carnival ride was fun. Made me wish they had onstage seating so the night would move a little faster.

Pat, that's a HORRIBLE thing to say in a thread devoted to the memory of this show.

This thread is about moving on and healing. Your kind of poison is not welcome here!

Besty, I think there's over 25 songs in the second act alone! I can say it's one of the worst shows I've ever seen, but one of the most fun experiences I've had watching a show simply because it became quite hilarious to count how many times Beth Leavel showed up with a new awful costume, or how many DREAMGIRLS cliches they could pack in there, ah, good times!
Adamgreer, Beth Leavel was hammy as all get out but at the same time, Helen Mirren could have played the role and it would have been a mess regardless.

Jordan, have you read this thread....sorry to say but most people are just sharing how much they did not enjoy the show!! Sharing memories of people eating mcdonalds, people running out as fast as they could laughing their asses off, 400 songs with 10 seconds worth is not what I call flattering....Not exactly healing memories if you ask me!

I meant what I said when I said I was willing to see it if it lasted a year or so...simply because there were to many shows out this year that it was hard to pack them all in!! I have to admit I could probably really liked it...I personally enjoyed Sister Act and Catch me if you can! As someone that loves Beth Leavel I hope she find a good show and nothing I said was meant to be taken as poison...simply as my take on the whole show...to date I have not met anyone who liked it...But like I said I am sure it wasnt that bad!!!

I also meant what I said about it on tour! I actually could see it doing well on tour!!!

Sincere Apologies if anyone took offense to what I said! Was all meant in good fun!

I remember reading the announcement of this show going to Broadway and simultaneously laughing and feeling really bad for Beth Leavel.

And I remember getting lots of emails offering me FREE (and it was always capitalized) tickets for the show, every one of which I deleted. Fond memories, indeed!

I was at the final performance today and I must say it was one of the funnier experiences I've had this year. I expected Beth to be completely out of control and hamming it up, but the entire cast had a fight to finish of who could top the previous line reading. Of course Beth won the war, but I give props to everyone for their valiant efforts!

Yes this show was bad, but it was hilariously so. I'm not sad it's going, but I'm thankful I was able to see it and will treasure the memories. My friends and I will be quoting and imitating performance for quite a while to come.

As Beth's biggest fan (or one of them) I found this show to be an adorable little hot mess! Cute and yes not so great but certainly not worth the Pearl Harbor attacks it's getting.

I would prefer to keep those for shows such as Dance of the Vampires, Carrie and the likes. This show certainly had it's issues but the orchestra was smoking, the singing fabulous and the energy levels pretty good. The night I saw it, the audience got up and danced at curtain call and kept on dancing thru the exit music. It's nice to leave a theater with some electricity coursing thru you veins, instead of the desire to toss myself off a bridge.

LOL @ this thread.

Knowing that the show was awful (having read the script and auditioned for the show), me and a close lady friend of mine (who'd ALSO auditioned for the show and, thus, knew the deal) made plans in advance to rush this show in the morning, get plastered beforehand, and see the show.

We rushed, we got drinks, arrived to the theatre very tipsy...

...and about 30 minutes into the show the buzz was GONE. LMAO.

To this day my friend still does a great impersonation of Leveal singing "Mama Said".

So really it's ironic because my memory of attending that show is actually quite positive!

Still, sad to see people out of work Goodbye, BABY IT'S YOU!

Wow...Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish.

I was one of the few who were "wined and dined" on Blogger Night. I got a ticket for free and I STILL WANTED MY MONEY BACK.

This was just outright lazy and lousy, I wanted to ask the cast at the PostShow Q&A why they joined this piece of sh!t.

(The only benefit from this is that I got my signed poster on my wall)

WhizzerMarvin..., if they performed the show like that from the start, they might have had a chance at halfway decent reviews. This was not a show that benefited from natural performances and sincerity. Crank it up and accept that you are part of one of something spectacularly awful. I mean, isn't that what Jackie Hoffman does every night at The Addams Family?
