I want to send a letter to Stephen Sondheim. And so I got an address from Sondheim.com, but I'm not sure if the address provided;

Sarah L Douglas
Douglas & Kopelman Artists, Inc
393 West 49th Street #5G
New York, NY 10019

is still correct and I didn't get a reply from Sondheim.com confirming it was accurate and I couldn't find any threads on BWW that confirmed it, so.... is that adress ^ correct? Thanks Contacting Stephen Sondheim....

It's the incorrect address. Write your letter and send it to his lawyer, John Breglio.

I didn't know he used email. I wonder if he has a Facebook under some secret name he doesn't want his fans knowing about.
In all honesty and seriousness though, I would suggest Breglio and his firm is the best way to contact him the first time.

Kelli O'Hara is there, but listed as Kelli Naughton. I don't know if that's a secret, but I always thought it was pretty clever of her.

Oh, and I don't know what you're going to write to him myshikobit, but I'll forewarn you, nothing too personal, obviously, and he doesn't talk about other living writers' work, so asking about a favorite recent show and what he thought about it won't work. He'll talk very openly about Oscar Hammerstein's work, though. And it isn't always possitive! re: Contacting Stephen Sondheim....

Really? PM me with what he's said if you think you're at liberty to say anything. I wrote him this long letter comparing Follies and Grey Gardens, thinking he'd write back, "Strange and interesting comparison" and he simply wrote a very nice, but very straightforward, "I don't talk about living writers." He has talked about Adam Guettel, at least back in the 90s. I've always wondered what he thought about Kander and Ebb aside from "They're terrific!". Updated On: 12/1/09 at 05:14 PM

"Beglio and his firm is the best way to contact him the first time."

Um...Beglio is of counsel to Paul Weiss. I would be a little surprised if he bothered to respond to letters or forward them to his clients. Unless of course he managed to wrangle a fraction of a billable hour from Sondheim by doing so.

I'm curious to hear his thoughts on JRB as well, if you wouldn't mind.

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

As am I. I'm SO FRICKIN' NOSY.

As for Kelli O'Hara being Kelli Naughton, why does that have to be "clever"? Why can't it be that she simply *is* Kelli Naughton in real life, but still performs under the O'Hara name 'cos that's how she's been established?

Maybe it's "clever" because she isn't widely known as Kelli Naughton. Did she change her name when she got married? Not everyone does. Look at Lauren Mitchell...she's married to Michael David, but didn't change her name and is still known as Lauren Mitchell, but maybe if she wanted a more "private" facebook she would create one under "Lauren David."

My Aunt Edie is 91. Her secret Facebook name is myshikobit.

Myshikobit?

Aunt Edie? Are you stalking Sondheim AGAIN?!?

It's possible that in her daily life (writing checks, etc, all the mundane stuff we all do her name is Naughton and when she's doing her thing on stage she's Kelli O'Hara. She seems like good people. Leave her alone!
