Alexander Hanson was on the red carpet (his first ever Broadway red carpet) for The Brighton Beach Memoirs tonight. Hanson is starring next to Angela Lansbury and Catherine Zeta Jones in A Little Night Music opening soon on Broadway.
Hanson says that the cast of A Little Night Music has had a week of rehearsals and during that time he has found Angela Lansbury to be a complete delight. Even so, Hanson admits that it is a bit intimidating being in a room with both Lansbury and Zeta-Jones. Watch the video to see all of what Hanson had to say.
David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail

Nice to see that the big stars aren't getting all the press.
This interview just makes me even more excited for the show!

Is that the same guy that was in Sunset Blvd. with Elaine Paige? if so he looks Soooooo different now, but I guess that was like 10 years ago or something.

He did play Joe in the London production of Sunset Boulevard to Petula Clark's Norma - I don't know whether he played opposite Elaine Paige.
Personally, I'm tipping him for this year's Olivier award, though I haven't seen his main competition yet. He really was superb and highly suitable for this particular production.
