The writers could easily write three more songs if needed." The whole thing about a 75 minute show vs a 90 minute show is justifying the cost per ticket. With the average ticket going for about $120 on average, something about a 75 minute show just doesn't make that price seem worth while. Yes, there are lots of popular one acts, but most of them run the 90 minutes. It's just kind of a given. But my thing it... is there really space to logically put more SONGS into this one to add the extra 15 minutes onto the show? I think they would have more space to add in scene work then songs. As someone said about, it's got a very Hedwig vibe so adding in some story telling with jokes I could see. But what would additional group numbers even BE about?
I think this goes to the "What's appropriate in a theatre" thread. I just don't think applauding before a number is appropriate in a theatre. Although it's staged as a pop group... they're not. They aren't "playing their greatest hits," they're competing to be the lead singer. Having the audience know the woe's that the Queen will sing about detracts from the purpose of the competition and the main plot of the story. It's not just a pop concert. The show has a plot. I may be inclined if it did not or the plot was very thin, though I don't think either are the case here."I understand what you're saying, and singing along definitely crosses a line, but the concept of the show is a pop concert; the show is meant to redefine your assumptions and expectations of who the queens are along with your assumptions and expectation about what theatre is. And, well of course people know what woes the queens are going to sing about -- the statute of limitations on spoilers for this story has definitely expired. If others' knowledge of the story ruins the experience for you, you may be at the wrong show.
From listening to the cast recording and trailers, it's giving me "Altar Boyz" tease.

I've seen a few of the Chicago Megasix uploaded to YT now and while I enjoy the singing and acting from the actress playing Ann...... she literally has to RUN to keep up with everyone in the blocking and it looks odd.
Love this pic!
Have seen it twice in Chicago and found very little had changed during this previews period (they sounded understandably a bit tired on Sunday) - with just a few musical/riff changes. Seeing it again tonight - wonder if anything changed over the weekend. Kinda hoping to see an understudy just to spice it up a bit.
Ya, ****, this does look good. If tix are on sale Im gathering a friend group rn to see this in Boston.
Yo this **** looks so dope. I'm definitely going to take a day trip to Boston to see it. I cant wait to read the reviews tonight.

Others (like me) have listened to the music and enjoyed it. It’s as simple as that. Not everybody loves what you love, and you may not love what other people love. That’s life. What’s so confusing about that?

"I Don't Need Your Love" is such a beautiful song and gives me chills every time I listen to it.The first time I saw the UK trailer I thought it looked cheesy, but the more I learned and saw from the show, the quicker I fell in love with it. It's totes [yes, totes] not for everyone but I think it has more chance at cross-over appeal than Be More Chill or Heathers." OOOOOOOOoooooooooooook! I get that but I have no desire seeing BMC and was not a fan of HoH both seem to attract the same market. The music does nothing for me. I'll stick to loving the fresh musicals Once, The Band's Visit and Hadestown.

I don’t get people saying why I shouldn’t play on Broadway!!This is going to go FARRRRR"People say it shouldn't play on Broadway because they (and I) believe it is too small for a Broadway house (similar to my thoughts on Be More Chill). I agree it will go far and I found myself saying "wow" several times during the performance, but it's not a Broadway show by any means. Off-Broadway, on the other hand...it could be a bigger hit there than Heathers.

'Six' gives these Tudor wives a voice and could be a huge hit Loved the Chicago Tribune review. I like how he points out it could survive on Broadway. As expected, lots of Hamilton comparisons.
So I'm watching some Six stuff on Youtube and apparently having American accents is a dealbreaker for some commenters. I mean, I know its Youtube, so I'm not expecting the best but I'm not seeing the problem here. The message is the same but some how the integrity of the show is gone cuz they're not doing British accents? I just don't see how it's bad..
