Good call, Husk! I was too enthralled seeing Sean Hayes being silly and Jane Krakowski being a social butterfly around the rehearsal hall (can't get enough of her).

musicalmaster703 - Is your birthday July 5th too? It's mine and I am seeing DAMN YANKEES on that day as well. I can't wait! Are you going to be at the matinee? If so, say "hello."

Loved the video. I'm looking forward to the show. I need to buy a ticket...I should just bite the bullet.
And to TPTB, could the apostrophe be moved one space to the right to form "Encores'?" I know, I know...this isn't the place for grammar, apparently, but it's a headline. :)

I'm thinking about legally changing my name to Lizzie Curry...
I'm such a dork. I can't stop watching the video. I don't think I've been this excited about a show since Donna Murphy was cast in FOLLIES and LOVEMUSIK the same season.

Yes, yes, and no. I have had many VERY bad experiences meeting people from online even though I'm sure you are great. I just want to be safe. :)
I will see this in July after I see LITTLE MERMAID with my camp. I can't wait to see this!!!! I can't wait to see everyone's delighted faces when the curtain goes up on the orchestra performing "THE GAME"!
I bet Rob Berman is going to be dressed as a baseball umpire or a coach!

Sean Hayes is soooooo cute and he is going to be so much fun. I was hoping him and Cheyenne would kiss in the segment but I guess that is asking for too much. :)

I've never been a big fan of Encores. The shows are cheap repros of the originals, which is fine for a few days run, but transferring them to Broadway for a full run cheapens Broadway. Sure, there may have been some hits, but for the most part, the tackiness shows.
Watching that lacklustre video from the rehearsal - which looks like regional theater, BTW - made me remember again how disappointed I have been seeing some of these shows.
I know people will disagree with me, but ten days of rehearsal never matches up to a full Broadway rehearsal period, I hate onstage orchestras and the lack of fully integrated scenery is... it's just cheap.
I hope this doesn't transfer unless it's the most amazing show in years, which I have a feeling it won't be.
^ So you rather have these revised cheap revivals?
This DAMN YANKEES is going to have the original book, choreography, and orchestrations. The design team is TOP NOTCH. William Ivey Long and John Lee Beatty. It's going to be wonderful.
I saw "Chicago" and "No No Nanette" in their 1970s incarnations and the Encores versions seemed like dinner theater with very talented actors (and yes, the band was viable in the original Chicago BUT AT LEAST THEY WORE PERIOD COSTUMES and didn't look like "The Buloxi Community Player's Tribute to Bob Fosse.")
musicalmaster703, I'm not sure who you've been meeting, but the people that I've met from BWW have all been wonderful. So much so, I usually see at least one of them every time I'm in NYC.
