Here John Cullum performs "I Rise Again". If this is the way it was originally staged it is apparent that his performance was far more physical than Peter Gallagher's.

I saw the original production and this is the way it was staged,  He was wonderful in the show.

I saw the original production. Ms Kahn had left the show.  It was a fun silly musical done with great style.

I did not see the revival with Kristin Chenoweth, but have seen clips on YouTube. I call tell she is working hard at acting.  She doesn't trust the material, so she adds all these gestures which add nothing. She has no style or class.  She was like this years ago in Candide.

Here are two clips from the Actors' Fund production. Marin Mazzie is better than Kristin plus she has great style and class.
