Producing a West End revival and recording it for Disney+ makes sense! But also I'd expect a Broadway revival, it would be a great choice in terms of audience interest to help reopen Broadway.

Def cheaper to record there, which makes sense.

But I’d think they’d at least want to do a tour in the US.

I really hope and think that they could do well with a straight forward remount (ala 2014 cabaret).
I’d love to see a couple broadway names in the mix.... Laura osnes as belle. Cheyenne Jackson as Gaston. Judy Kaye as Mrs Potts. Nick Adams as lumiere. I’m a bit unsure of the beast role. I think Jonathan Groff could do amazing at if I can’t love her
But I really just want the original with new tech

The problem with opening it on Broadway (whether before or after the premiere and filming) is that it would never close. Disney would wait decades for the money to dwindle before releasing the recording, unless they make it a limited run, of course.

Regardless of the quality of the movie, the box-office clearly states there is an audience hungry for more Beauty and the Beast.

I agree for another shot at The Little Mermaid. They, of course, need to rewrite Act 2 before even thinking about that (I honestly don't have any idea how so many higher ups agreed that A SINGING CONTEST was what audiences were paying for) and a direction more like The Lion King would do it good.

By the way, I love some of your suggestions, Theatrefanboy1, especially Judy Kaye and Jonathan Groff.

I'm SO thankful that this message board doesn't control the money, because...
