I'm going to be in Row Q, on the side, so I hope that's good!

How high is the stage at the Richard Rodgers?  What is the minimum number of rows back you would need to sit in the orchestra to still see the floor of the stage?

I'm sitting in the center rear mezz because I refuse to pay any more.  And the box office reminded me: "These are damned good seats for $89; it's a dirty little secret."

I would remind: if you sit way up in the back of the orchestra, you've got quite an overhang to contend with, even with the rake. I've sat in every section there, and think you need to aim for sightlines first, ticket price second. Every $167 ain't wonderful.

Avoid orchestra seating behind row r as the mezzanine overhang really drops cutting off the view...front mezzanine b-f (not first row a) is great and rear center mezzanine rows b-d (not first row a) not that bad a view but up there...avoid the sides.

Are you saying to avoid rear mezzanine row A because of the bar? I sat up there for If/Then and didn't have a problem.

I saw If/Then from the right side orchestra towards the middle and my view was great.

Has anyone sat in Row H center Orchestra... I received them as a gift and I have only sat in the mezzanine at the Rodgers.

^^^ That's one nice gift! I imagine the view from there will be perfect.

Those are terrible seats. I'd be happy to take them off your hands so you don't have to suffer. :)

Back in the day with a box office gig, if there was a dollar for every "I want a good seat" request, I would have long retired.  If I wasn't in the mood to give them "the look" and was feeling full of vinegar I would say, "Hold on, let me see if I can get a chair to put on the stage for you."

Seriously, I love those old theatres but those damn "obstructed" views suck.  I saw "Guys and Dolls" in the 90s at the Beck and sat house right.  I had no idea that Nathan was next to Adelaide in the wedding scene.  I thought she was just dreaming it or he got off at Saratoga for the 15th time on his way to the stage.

Nice is different than good.

There happen to be three tickets to Hamilton available when my parents are visiting at the end of the summer, but they're in row V in the middle of the stage-left section. Based on this thread, I can't tell if it's worth it. Should I get them? Is the overhang so bad that it's really an obstructed view?

I'm going next week, and my seats are last row mezz all the way to the right.  I've sat in the balcony at the Palace (which I thought was dangerously steep) and the St. James (which didn't seem as steep but still felt like a mile away).  Sat in rear mezz for Beautiful and thought it was fine.  Which view am I in for at the RR?

I was in row B of the center mezzanine at Hamilton and it was a great view. I'm not a very large person. I'm 5'4" and I found the seats cozy. Very cozy. Packed in like sardines cozy. I think lower mezzanine is ideal for this show. There's a lot action across the entire stage so you can take it all in.

I just wanted to report that I sat in Row Q of the orchestra, three seats in from the far side (audience right). The view was wonderful. I was surprised how close the stage seemed. Plus that's in the stadium seating section, so I could very easily see over the head of the person in front of me. Then last week I sat in the center section of the P row, also orchestra, and that was even better. These were both regular-price seats.

Has anyone seen it from the rear mezzanine, specifically the second to the last row? I'll be visiting the city with my mom and she doesn't want to pay $177 for a single ticket.

I was about 5 rows away from the back wall, not a bad view really, but you are far.  Didn't effect our enjoyment at all.  Sound is quite good too.

(Am looking to seeing it from the front Mezz, however.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

BOM said: "Just looked up tickets to see this in july. $200 to sit in the first like 7 rows for this show. Way overpriced in my opinion. This amount of money is a joke, even in book of mormon standards.
"

It's kind of fun just to look back and see that people thought 200 bucks for a front orchestra seat for Hamilton was too much...

I know, right? Just for the fun of it I looked at a Hamilton performance in December, and the premium seats are $998!

So now, the answer to the question, Where is the best place to sit at the Rodgers, is "Anywhere you possibly can!"
