My friend was able to pick up 2 rush tickets at 6:00pm for tonight’s show (Friday). The seats were in mezz row E to the side, full view!

I think the weekdays may be easier days to get tickets later in the day, possibly.  I was in line at 8:40 this morning (Saturday) and was 5th in line.  At 9:00 their were 10 of us, and when they opened there was more than 20.  I got box seats, partial view.

Got one an hour before curtain tonight. Row H last seat, full view.

But on the left side you do only see a little bit of that ending image in the background.

Is it just a car with it's lights on? Or is there more? And is it an actual mini car prop or just a picture?

Got to box office about an hour before the Wednesday matinee and got row C seat 7. The three seats to my left remained empty; the house overall was probably 75% full at most.

AntV, I thought it was actually there.  I didn’t notice it until a few seconds before the lights went out, but it was so subtle I wonder how many people noticed it immediately even if they were at a better vantage point.

Does box office still not ask for a student ID for rush tickers? Might try to rush this today if I can’t get rush for Pretty Woman but I’m not a student.

I didn’t even realize it was being advertised as a student rush. Regardless, I wasn’t asked to show an ID.

Thanks! I was able to pick up two this morning. They didn’t ask me either.

Bought 2 tickets without ID at 5pm yesterday.  Got front row center!  (Must have been a late cancellation.)  Found a couple moments to be heavy-handed, but overall was better than I expected, with each character's point of view relatable.  The glaring weakness remains that there is no opportunity for Jeremy nor Steven to sing...

I’m so excited. I took the plunge and impulsively booked flights and hotel for Jan. 4 - 7, 2019 so I could catch Torch Song’s final performance on the 6th.

While there I’m going to see 4 other shows including American Son. I think my friend is going to come up from Ohio to join me just to see American Son. We’re both Scandal/Olivia Pop/Kerry Washington fans and we both work in progressive criminal justice reform so this seems to be a good fit for us. Also, I’m a fan of Steven Pasquale (have seen him previously in The Robber Bridegroom) and Jeremy Jordan (will be my first time seeing him on stage).

But I degress...

I initially thought we’d be best off going to TKTS for our tickets, but it looks like it is very easy to get rush tix? We are looking at Saturday Jan. 5th tickets, either matinee or evening.

Do they give out rush tix for both performances when box office opens at 10 a.m.? Looks like they’re usually front orchestra?

Also, I assume it will be pretty cold and I assume that (as well as time of year) will likely lead to less people lining up. So what time would you recommend lining up?

Lastly, I’d like to stagedoor with my friend (her first time). I’ll look to see if there is already a thread for this, but in case there is not, do you know if Kerry and the rest of the cast usually stagedoor and, if so, do they stagedoor after Saturday matinees (I know many casts of many shows do not).

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice and for reading my lengthy post. Be thankful you’re not trapped inside my head for the next 30 days. I’ll be obsessing about everything related to my trip until it happens. Lol

I can't speak to rushing before BO opening, but I *also* got front row center when arriving later in the day (about 6:00 for an 8:00 curtain). At first I thought it would be too close, but it turned out to be good for this particular show.

Here's what I think the deal is: From looking at the Telecharge seat maps, they've priced premium seats higher as they get closer to the stage, with the very front row at $250. It appears that it's not selling at a lot of performances for this reason (who would want to sit in row A over row F, you know?), and based on what happened to me and some other folks in this thread, it sounds like they unload it close to curtain.

If you want the highest likelihood of getting in, you're probably best arriving in the morning. But if you want to risk it and try to get one of the unsold premium seats in the front few rows, maybe check on the telecharge seat maps a couple times during the day and pop over to the theatre once you see a couple disappear off of it.

Hi!

Wonder if anyone can offer any advice, I can get row E centre Mezzanine for this tomorrow matinee, or row P seat 4 Orchestra. Also row H centre Mezzanine. Which would you guys go for?

Many thanks American Son Rush

Honestly, there isn’t a bad vantage point in this theatre for this show (or any other I’ve seen there). I would just say closer to the aisle because the rows a little tight.

Check out my eBay page for sales on Playbills!! www.ebay.com/usr/missvirginiahamm

Many thanks for the reply, shall take another look at availability and book a seat close to the aisle!

Thanks again American Son Rush

I rushed today, got to the theater around 8:00AM and was the first one there, to my surprise. By 10:00, I think the line was up to six or so people. I got to the teller (who was polite!) and asked for two tickets. I got two in the orchestra row K for tonight! I think since it was a weekday, I got lucky with being first on a very short line!

Doubt if anyone's on this thread at this time, but I'm currently at the Booth and not sure where the rush line begins? I'm the only one here (arrived at 8:15), so I'm not too worried--just wondering if I'm standing in the right spot. Thanks!

The line starts underneath the awning at the 45th Street glass box office doors.

If the rain lets up, I may try to see if they have any rush tickets left for tonight later this afternoon. Otherwise, I'm going to try to get up early and try for tomorrow. I live outside the city so I have to plan for train rides and such every time I come in for shows.

Re: seat choice: if doesnt matter. Sit anywhere. There is no missable action from ANY seat in the house. The set was well designed with good sight lines.

I showed up at 1:45 PM for a 2 PM matinee.

They didnt have any rush but sold me a standing room for 40.

And there were a few seats in the last row of the orchestra perfectly at center. So I lucked out.

That being said, without ANY spoilers, the writer totally missed the mark on this play.

The FINAL MOMENT of the play should have been the OPENING of the play, and continue the story onwards from there.

You can have ALL the same conversations about class, race, ethics, police brutality, etc

Trying for the rush tomorrow morning. What time have people been showing up lately?

I rushed with a friend on Saturday. I was dragging ass that morning so we didnt get there until 9:22. There were 16 or more people ahead of us. We got 2 of 3 of the last rush tickets left for the matinee (evening rush tickets were already gone) so good thing we arent there any later.

On a Wednesday, line might be shorter. Good luck!

I rushed last Saturday 12/29. Arrived at 9:10 and was 10th in line. By 10am I'd say another 10-15 were behind me. I had a choice of matinee or evening show but the ticket agent had a list in front of her with about 20 lines highlighted. I didn't get an exact count though.

Ended up Orchestra D14 which was far right. I don't feel like I missed anything though. Jeremy Jordan's character kept entering/exiting the stage from that side so I couldn't see him walk on or off.

Went today Jan 12 around 11a to see if there was anything left for the matinee but they said that when the box office opened at 10a they only had 2 rush tickets and then sold through all their SRO tickets.

Not sure if anyone is up for this, but if you end up rushing during the week and are only getting one ticket, I'd love the second one (I have a full time job). I'd be willing to pay for half of your ticket as thanks! Message me if interested :)

I rushed this morning (1/12/19) and got to the theater at 8:30 and was first in line. By 8:45 there were about 7-10 people in line. They only had two rush tickets for the matinee and two for the evening, but they did sell standing room for the matinee this morning. I'm not sure when they started selling for the evening, but there was definitely standing room tonight.
