Has anyone been successful with SP cancellation tickets lately? If so, what time did you get there/what was the availibility like compared to the amount of people in line?

Posted: 5/13/08 at 9:11pmyeah hl, about 3 weeks back, got there 4:00 for a Tuesday night 7:00 show, 3 people ahead of me, they got in, myself, as well as the 3 people behind me, so a total of 7 cancellation tickets.

Posted: 5/17/08 at 6:41pmI was wondering if anyone had any recent experiences with the cancellation line. I recently had plans change that will give me time to catch this show with my mother this upcoming week Tuesday or Wednesday and was wondering if it'd be worth trying.

Posted: 5/17/08 at 7:02pmi did it last wednesday. i got there at 330 just cause i was in the area and the first pair had just come up. went back an hour later to grab another ticket and they were also able to accomodate me. there didnt appear to be anyone else there but since I was there early, I dont know if a line eventually formed.

ANYONE else who has done the cancellation line please chime in with your experience!!
I am amazed that you can get there at 3:30 and get a ticket- I would have thought people would be lining up in the morning and waiting all day.

Posted: 5/20/08 at 3:43pmI went for a Sat. evening and was the first person in line. They made us wait until after 6 PM. (I was there since around 3:10-3:15.) The first 6 people got in.

Posted: 5/21/08 at 10:08amThe seats are always in the orchestra from what I've experienced. (They're house seats typically, although mine were the rear orchestra, which was actually excellent. It's a small house so the seats are all pretty good. The rear orchestra is better than the front loge.)

Posted: 5/21/08 at 3:08pmmine were rear orch as well - but there is not a bad seat in that house for this show (having sat in the loge as well, I cant really say I have a preference). when a show is this good, as the box office man said, 'does it really matter [where the seats are]?'

I don't post much here, but thought I'd share my experience.
I did the cancellation line yesterday - Wednesday 5/28 - for the matinée. I arrived at 11:15am and there were already 7 people ahead of me in line. By about 12:00pm, all of us, including the woman behind me, had gotten tickets. I also talked to a woman a bit later who was further back in line and she said after I left at least 3 more people got tickets as well, making for a total of at least 12 tickets released yesterday. Not sure if this is the norm, but it sounded like a lot to me.
I'm sure it's been said many times on the boards, but the tickets are full price, and since all the people who were in line with me ended up being seated in the orchestra, be prepared to pay $120. It's the most I've - and most of the folks I talked to - ever spent on a show, but it was worth every cent! Good luck with the line!

Posted: 6/22/08 at 12:33amI went the day of the Tony's and got there at 12 when the box office opened. There was about 15 people in front of me. But there's two doors to enter the box office and the people who were at the other door, meaning not the main one next to the library, got to be in front of the line. I'm not sure how you get to that special door but they were saying it was hard to find but it's right next to the cancellation line. A lot of people in front of me gave up quickly since they kept saying they may have no tickets or they may have tickets for everyone. I got a ticket in the second to last row, center orchestra. It was a great seat. I don't think you'll have any trouble for a Wednesday matinée since that would probably be the least popular time.

Can anyone help me out? I'd like to try the cancellation line today, since the holiday would hopefully mean less people at the show. I get out of work at 4 PM. Is it worth it to head over at that point?
Are the cancellation tickets only sold at first price, or could I get one at the student price?
