re: The Search for Elle Woods: The Spoiler thread  Jul 22 2008, 12:07:55 AM
Bailey wasn't my first choice, but overall she's much more fun to watch, even if she doesn't have the strongest voice. When I watched Bailey she held my attention. When Autumn was onstage, I found myself looking at the other performers. Autumn is talented, but was not entirely right for the role.

"On the other hand, no one knows Kate Rockwell and the producers don't seem to have any big name lined up."

No one knows who Laura Bell Bundy is outside of the theater community. They don't need a "big name" to sell the show. The name itself sells the show to people who aren't familiar with theater.

Bailey has no emotional depth whatsoever. I will be very disappointed if she wins.

"But now I'm looking forward to Kate Rockwell's interpretation."

Kate Rockwell would've been an amazing full time Elle. It's too bad they had to do this whole reality show(even though it is entertaining).

"Bailey isn't that good of a singer, though, IMO"

She isn't a good actress either. It seems all she can do well is dance. I have no clue why she got this far. She's been turning out bad and mediocre performances every audition.

re: The Search for Elle THOUGHTS! Ep 6  Jul 7 2008, 11:40:36 PM
"Rhiannon was really weak vocally so I don't understand why they chose her over Natalie. She was awkwardly scream-singing sometimes. Natalie cried at the rehearsal, but didn't really have much emotion... her vocals were much better than Rhiannon though. "

Natalie is good, just not right for this role. I've said that from the first episode. I guess the judges chose to eliminate her instead of Rhiannon because even with the blonde hair, she didn't look right for the role. On the other ha

I actually thought Emma was okay this week. I think it was mostly her comments to the judges that sent her home. I thought she was going to last at least one more week. Who cracked up when Rhiannon started crying when she talked about Lauren's confidence?

Well Bailey's friends certainly aren't trying to keep anything underwraps. It sucks she wins. All I've seen from her is a LBB impression.
re: very cute Kelli O'Hara article in Parade  Jun 22 2008, 07:06:11 PM
Chita Rivera didn't win a Tony until her fifth nomination, and that doesn't mean she's not talnted.

I hate how they edit that show. I thought some girls were horrible, but when I looked at their full performances online, I thought they were decent. I thought Bailey did okay but when I looked at her performance online, she was TERRIBLE. I thought Cassie S. was one of the worst, but thought she did a lot better then some girls when I saw the whole thing.

"Was anyone else suspicious that Bailey's little interview/commentary segments seemed to happening in a dressing room type area? It s

re: Entertainment Weekly's Top Ten Broadway Shows of the Past 25 Years  Jun 19 2008, 06:19:09 PM
Most of that list seems to be The Top Ten Most Popular Well Known Shows Of The Past 20 Years. The people who made don't seem to be that invested in theater.
re: Best/Worst Performance at the Tony's?  Jun 16 2008, 01:00:32 PM
BEST: Gypsy, Xanadu, and Sunday
All of the performers from these three shows were superb.

Worst: Grease
I felt embarrassed for them. All of it was an absolute trainwreck.

re: The Little Mermaid on the Tonys  Jun 16 2008, 12:57:19 PM
The whole Little Mermaid/A Catered Affair/YF thing was horrible. Each number got very little time so it came out awkward, and I think it was overall a waste of time.
re: The 62nd Tony Awards Megathread  Jun 15 2008, 08:19:31 PM
I am definitely not interested in Cry-Baby, but now I'm even less interested thanks to that performance. Was it just me or did that feel like it was ten minutes long?
re: The Search for Elle THOUGHTS!  Jun 2 2008, 11:16:46 PM
I should have taken a drink every time they said something so ridiculous it made me laugh. Like, that girl saying she loved the sound of her own voice, calling Haylie Duff a "tripe threat", and how bad some of those girls were.
re: Sondheim Talks FOLLIES Movie Musical  May 6 2008, 10:54:59 PM
Follies is one of my favorite Sondheim score. If done right, I think it could be quite good. I hoped the book isn't drastically changed in order for it to be adapted to film.
re: 'Merrily We Roll Along' comin to B'Way.  May 6 2008, 10:43:49 PM
Well, I'm excited.

re: Javier Bardem Pulls Out of 'Nine' Film  May 1 2008, 07:43:56 PM
I was disappointed when I heard this. In this case, I think they should just get Antonio. I can't see anyone else in the role at that moment.

re: Shoshana to come back on Broadway????  Apr 7 2008, 11:43:15 PM
Please...no. Even if Shoshana were to come back to Broadway, I highly doubt it would be in Wicked, considering the things she has said about her time in that show.
