John Storie is musician / showman with a true comical wit, and abundant skills on the guitar. His new album'Ponderosa' is a folksy throwback to his early days, and some swinging straight ahead jazz. He recorded the album so it would hold different guitar sounds, texture and vocals. He is a longtime showman with much to sing about.

Terrific New Theatre Opens Season 34 With THE CAKE

Terrific New Theatre (TNT) will open its 34th season in August with the emotional but deliciously funny play, The Cake, inspired by events leading to the U.S. Supreme Court case Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. The show will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from Aug. 8-31, plus two Sunday matinees. Set in the South, this topical comedy was written by Bekah Brunstetter, a writer and producer of the television series This Is Us, who has authored other plays as well.

With Pride Week approaching, Birmingham Festival Theatre is on time with offering an emotional and striking production of Robert Anderson's 1953 drama 'Tea and Sympathy.' Set at an all boys' school in the early 1950's, the show tackles the fear, insecurity and the eventual anger that people under persecution face. The teenage boys attending the school are written with an amped jocular rambunctiousness. The carnal behavior lurking behind the boy's clean crisp khaki's and sweater vests is a starter kit for toxic masculinity.
