Shakespeare & Company will stage the world premiere of Awni Abdi-Bahri's Three Tall Persian Women, directed by Dalia Ashurina, at the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre from August 30 through October 13. This comedic play explores generational differences and the tension between societal expectations and personal autonomy, centering on Golnar, a punkish Iranian-American millennial who returns home to confront family memories during her father’s anniversary. The cast features Awni Abdi-Bahri as Golnar, award-winning actress Lanna Joffrey as Mamani, two-time Tony-nominated producer Afsheen Misaghi as Arash, and Niousha Noor as Nasrin, familiar from her role in The Persian Version.
