The Crayon King, Or Learning To Share Playwright: Jeffrey Higgins Show Dates: 6/12/26-7/5/26 Director: Lydia West Choreographer: Robert Mintz Season Producer: Valerie Lash THE STORY - The Crayon King, or Learning to Share is a family-friendly musical about four kindergarteners (played by adults): Ricky, Frankie, Jimmy, and Kristen. Their social status is based on the size of their crayon box. Ricky and his best friend, Frankie, each have twenty-four crayons. Jimmy always tries to just be his creative self, but he is constantly confronted with the difficulties of having only eight crayons. Kristen manipulates her fellow students by wielding her forty-eight crayons over them. Secrets come out. Feelings are hurt. Crayons are broken. But in the end, these youngsters learn that it should be who you are on the inside and not what you color with that counts.
