The Beauty Queen of Leenane at Maryland Ensemble Theatre

Maryland Ensemble Theatre presents The Beauty Queen of Leenane, a dark comedy by Martin McDonagh that explores the tumultuous relationship between Maureen, a lonely woman, and her manipulative mother, Mag, set against the backdrop of Connemara’s rugged landscape. The return of an old flame introduces new tension into their fraught dynamic, raising questions about escape and the complexities of family dysfunction. The cast features Gené Fouché, Julie Herber, Bill Dennison, Willem Rogers, Zack Callis, and Joseph Waeyaert, alongside Lori Laird, under the direction of Elizabeth van den Berg. The show will run from February 7 to March 2, 2025.
