Pumpkin Theatre Presents LILLY'S PURPLE PLASTIC PURSE in May

Pumpkin Theatre continues our 45th Anniversary Season "A Celebration of Imagination" with Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. Based on the children's book series by Kevin Henkes, this story is about a mouse named Lilly who loves everything about school, especially her cool teacher, Mr. Slinger. But when Lilly brings her purple plastic purse and its treasures to school and can't wait until sharing time, Mr. Slinger confiscates her prized possession. Lilly's fury leads to revenge and then to remorse and she sets out to make amends. Performances take place on May 11, 12, 18, and 19 at 1 and 3pm at St. Timothy's School, 8400 Greenspring Avenue. Forum Theatre Presents One-Night Benefit Performance of NECESSARY TARGETS, 5/6

Forum Theatre in conjunction with producers Adrienne Nelson and Ian Armstrong, present a Special Engagement of Eve Ensler's Necessary Targets. The evening will feature a light reception (with drinks and dessert) followed by a reading of Necessary Targets and a post-show discussion. VIP tickets (premium reserved seating) are $75 and General Admission tickets are $50. All proceeds will benefit the productions and artistic & community programming of Forum's 2012/2013 Season.

Everyman Theatre continues its season of award-winning Baltimore Premieres with the 2002 Pulitzer Prize-winning Topdog/Underdog by Suzan-Lori Parks, playing April 24th through May 19th, 2013. The production will feature Everyman Theatre Resident Company Eric Berryman and Everyman veteran KenYatta Rogers in the two-person cast. Well-known and respected DC director, Jennifer L. Nelson, will helm the production.

Twenty years ago on this day, April 3, 1993, one hundred and six ticket holders crammed into the Olde Town Tavern back room for the very first Comedy Pigs show! The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre'ssketch and improv troupe, is still going strong all these years later. After twenty years they think they've finally got the hang of it but you can be the judge at their next shows on April 13 and 20 at 10:30pm. The April shows will follow the main stage show, Finally Heard: Feminine Heroes of an Uncivil War. This will be troupe members Carly Ball, Gary Baker, Courtney McLaughlin, Chris 'C-Mo' Molloy, Anne Raugh, Franky Russell, Jeff Schnorr, Laura Stark and Julie Williams only two performances in April.

Everyman Theatre's Director of Marketing, Jonathan K. Waller, is the composer and lyricist behind the new musical A SUPERHERO, which will be staged for the first time at his alma mater, McDonogh School, from April 12th through 14th. The show is a full-scale production featuring more than 30 students from all three divisions at McDonogh. It will also feature a 20-piece orchestra - 11 from the school's music department and 9 professional musicians. The new musical is about the extraordinary power of love, family, and the faith we have in things we can't prove to be real.

The Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestras (BSYO) will hold the first-ever BSYO Gala and Auction on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 5:30 pm at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The BSYO Gala will showcase live musical entertainment by BSYO's own talented student musicians and feature Baltimore-inspired cuisine from La Scala Ristorante Italiano, Panache Fine Catering, Iced Gems Dessert Creations, and more. Both a silent and live auction will give attendees opportunities to bid on one-of-a-kind auction items such as: a week-long retreat at South Carolina's Folly Beach; weekend getaway packages to Baltimore-area hotels (including The Wayside Inn, Harborplace Renaissance Hotel, Guest Suite at McHenry Row); Ravens memorabilia; premiere tickets to see the Baltimore Orioles play at Camden Yards; private lessons with BSO musicians, and surprise auction "experiences" with BSO Music Director Marin Alsop and/or BSO musicians.
