Marian tunnustus - muistokirjoitus hevoselle on vakuuttava kotimainen uutuusteos. Sen yksi inspiraation lähteistä on Eeva Mesiäisen elämäkerta Maria Kajavan pitkä taival, joka kertoo inkerinsuomalaisesta Mariasta. Hänellä oli poikkeuksellinen palo luterilaisen seurakunnan perustamiseen aikana, jolloin uskonto oli kokonaan kielletty ja rikollista. Esitykseen ohjaaja-käsikirjoittaja Hanna Kirjavainen on myös tuonut omaa pohdintaa pyhästä, ihmisen suhteesta luontoon ja eläimiin oman hevosensa Pojun menettämisensä kautta: '-- olin pitkään kokenut hevosen läsnäolossa jotain sakraalia, mystistä ja perustavanlaatuista olemassaoloa -- Tunsin vahvasti, että se taluttaa minua kielen tuolle puolen, vaikenemisen ja 'sellaisenaan toteutumisen' ulottuvuuteen, jonne ihmismieli ei yllä.' Näin syntyi fiktiivinen teos Mariasta, joka todella pohtii niin teologisia, kielellisiä (tarkemmin metalingvistisiä), kuin ikiaikaisia rakkauden ja anteeksiannon kysymyksiä.

I got invited to the TAMK's musical students' premiere of Song For a New World. It's been directed by a leading musical actor Petrus Kähkönen who now took the job of a director. He had a challenge of arranging a show that was originally performed by four people in a form of a concert now into a musical for 15 performers. He did well. Let's dig into the review:

Kansallisteatterin 150-vuotisjuhlavuodelle Suurelle näyttämölle tuodaan aiheellisesti Red Nose Companyn Aleksis Kivi, jonka kansallisromanttista maailmaa säestää kamariorkesteri Avanti. Ensi-iltansa teos saa 17.2.2022, josta se jatkaa kiertueelle eri puolelle Suomea. Haastattelin teoksen dramaturgia Eva Buchwaldia, joka toimii myös Kansallisteatterin vakituisena dramaturgina, sekä ohjaajaa Linda Wallgrenia sähköpostin välityksellä. A performance starts as early as in the green room (lämpiö). Everything was lit with a subtle, almost unnoticeable red light. It's the color of bravery and the femininity, a color of a sacrifice - though before the 1940s it was the color of the masculine.

My journey to this work started by Turku City theatre's Teosavaus, a preview panel with the director Snoopi Siren and two of the actors, old-timer Taneli Mäkelä and newcomer Elias Keränen, interviewed by the head of art department Mikko Kouki. It was a good set of people in terms of hearing about the rehearsal process from different perspectives.

Sain kunnian arvioida tämän ryhmän teoksen ja myös pikaisesti haastatella opettajia, joilla oli teoksesta ja sen kautta oppimisesta myös pedagoginen sekä ohjauksellinen vastuu.

UA Talks X Kansis is an 'Artist café and discussion club open to all', an event organized by Urban Apa. This time it was located at Vallila's Kansallisteatteri, Finnish National Theatre. The show is much, but bearable and moreover brings you into the world of a sick person.

In a nutshell Frankenstein is an entertaining, though minimalistic show with simple, yet important themes. Its target audience is children, though adults can enjoy it alike for there are recognisable songs and scenic jokes on living in a student studio.

The evening of theatre consisted o two performances: Agatha Christie syytettynä murhasta (A. C. accused of murder) and Satyyrinäytelmä: Seireenit sukkahousuissa (A Satire play: Siren's in Stockings (wow that translated well!))
