This weekend, direct from Colombia, the critically acclaimed international musical sensation 'The Most Amazing Story Ever Sung' (La más grande historia jamás cantada) makes its New York debut with a strictly limited, four-performance engagement at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall (Broadway at 60th Street, inside the Time Warner Center), September 21-23, 2012.

Continuing its commitment to nurturing and producing the next generation of musical theatre artists, Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has awarded its first annual Donna Perret Rosen Award for excellence in musical theatre to composer/lyricist Adam Gwon. The $10,000 award was established at the off-Broadway company's 2011 gala to honor Second Stage Theatre trustee Donna Perret Rosen in recognition of her long-standing commitment to young artists and new works. The award was chosen by Tony Award winners James Lapine, Susan Stroman, and Jack Viertel.

In the last week the stars came out to 54 Below to see engagements featuring Linda Lavin with Billy Stritch, Eden Espinoza and Jason Robert Brown. Among those in the audience were Carol Burnett, Joy Behar, Hal Prince, John Davidson, Penny Fuller and Steve Bakunis.

Pippin director Eric Rosen, who is also Kansas City Repertory Theatre's artistic director, has announced that Kevin Massey will step into the title role for three performances: 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on September 29, and 2 p.m. on September 30. He will replace the title star Claybourne Elder who will be away for a pre-existing family commitment. Pippin began previews September 14, opens September 21 and closes October 7.

"Diva" impersonator and actress Carly Sakolove, will bring her zany one-woman show I HEAR VOICES to Joe's Pub this fall. The show, written by Sakolove and Tony Award® nominee Bill Russell now features new divas, new songs, and many more surprises. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today Broadway star and multiple time Tony Award and Drama Desk nominee Kelli O'Hara will be honored for her work in the theater at the NYMF 2012 Annual Gala taking place on Sunday, November 11th at The Hudson Theatre (145 W. 44th Street) beginning at 6:00pm. Kelli is currently starring on Broadway in Nice Work If You Can Get It, and was seen on Broadway in South Pacific, The Pajama Game, The Light In The Piazza and many others.

Tom Hooper's upcoming big-screen adaptation of 'Les Miserables,' starring Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Anne Hathaway as Fantine and a slew of other big-name stars, was previously set for a theatrical release on December 14. Now according to Variety, after 'The Great Gatsby' and 'Life of Pi' were pushed back, the release of 'Les Miserables' has been postponed until Christams Day- December 25. Universal plans to use the new gap to 'take advantage of holiday crowds.'
