The Broadway at Birdland concert series debuted a new concept called "Portrait of an Artist," featuring actor/director/painter Steve Bakunas. The multi-talented artist conducted an intimate interview with actress Linda Lavin, while painting her portrait on the historic Birdland stage. Denver Center Theatre Company (DCTC) will present the world premiere of SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL, running April 5 - May 26 in The Stage Theatre. Accoring to DCTC's website, the show has securred an all-star design team, wich includes scenic design by Allen Moyer, costume design by Esosa, lighting design by James F. Ingalls and sound design by Craig Breitenbach. As BroadwayWorld previously announced, the show will be directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge.

Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith and Columbia University have just announced the establishment of significant theater award, The Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama Inspired by American History (EMK Prize). Ambassador Smith has created the Prize to honor the life and legacy of her late brother, Senator Ted Kennedy. The first recipient of the EMK Prize will be announced on Senator Kennedy's birthday, February 22, 2013.

Barbra Streisand's private music vault holds all the master tapes she's recorded for five decades. Now, she's sharing 11 previously unreleased songs, spanning a cross-section of her career from 1963 to the present. The collection, titled RELEASE ME, is now available on vinyl and on CD (Tuesday, October 9). Signature Theatre has just announced a one-week extension for GOLDEN CHILD by David Henry Hwang, directed by Leigh Silverman. The production will now play through Sunday, December 9. The production will begin performances on October 23 and open November 13 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Very limited availability remains for the production's initial run. Tickets during the extension week are $75 each.

Manhattan Theatre Club's production of a new version of Henrik Ibsen's AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes opens tonight at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

THE COMEDY is already one of the most talked about films since it bowed at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Rock legend Stevie Nicks in collaboration with musical wizard Dave Stewart have co-produced and co-directed 'In Your Dreams - Stevie Nicks' a documentary portrait of the illusive Nicks as they embark on a musical journey to write and record the critically acclaimed album 'In Your Dreams'. The film will premiere at the 35th International Hamptons Film Festival on Sunday October 7th and at the 20th annual Mill Valley Film Festival on Friday, October 12th which has already sold out.

On Christmas Day, the highly anticipated film version of Les Miserables hits the big screen, and according to producer Cameron Mackintosh, there might be another Boublil & Schonberg musical coming soon after. According to Ohnotheydidint, Mackintosh recently revealed: "If Les Mis is a success then Miss Saigon will be made into a film. It isn't confirmed at this point but there are many people sniffing around and offers coming in."
