According to Deadline.com Andrew Garfield has signed on to appear in the sequel to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, which is set to be directed by Marc Webb. Previous co-star Emma Stone is currently in talks to return as 'Gwen Stacy.'

Music legend Aretha Franklin was in attendence at the special launch of Mowtown: The Musical last night at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, and she told BroadwayWorld exclusively that she'd like to make her way to the Great White Way. When asked by Richard Ridge whether she'd like to come to Broadway, the songstress replied: 'I would love to, sure. I would love to.'

MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL, based on the life of legendary Motown founder Berry Gordy, will open on Broadway at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46 Street) on April 14, 2013. Preview performances will begin March 11, 2013. Last night, the show held a launch event for the anticipated world premiere at Lunt Fontanne Theatre. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham) will begin previews for the world premiere production of WILD WITH HAPPY, written by Colman Domingo, on Tuesday, October 9 in The Public's LuEsther Theater. Directed by Robert O'Hara, WILD WITH HAPPY runs through Sunday, November 11, with an official press opening on Tuesday, October 23. I wanted to see Thoroughly Modern Millie, so I spent a great deal of time trying to connect with other people who wanted to see the same thing.'

TV Land has ordered a cast-contingent presentation of the script 'Giant Baby' by Marco Pennette ('Ugly Betty,' 'Samantha Who'), it was announced today by Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land. The comedy will star Kirstie Alley in the lead role of Madison 'Maddie' Banks, a Broadway star who finds her life turned upside down when Owen, the son she gave up for adoption 26 years ago, turns up looking to connect after his adopted mother has died. However, Maddie doesn't exactly see nerdy and schlubby Owen fitting in with her luxurious lifestyle. When her attempt to change Owen backfires, Maddie finds that perhaps they both could use a little change in their lives.
