The first new Broadway production of Tim Rice's and Andrew Lloyd Webber's landmark musical EVITA since its premiere over 30 years ago stars Grammy-winning international pop icon Ricky Martin as Che, Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger making her Broadway debut as Eva Peron and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Peron. Second Stage Theatre has canceled five preview performances of Jon Kern's world premiere comedy, Modern Terrorism, Or They Who Want To Kills Us and How We Learn To Love Them, due to actor illness. The canceled previews on Sunday, September 30, Tuesday, October 2, and both previews on Wednesday, October 3 have delayed the opening to Thursday, October 18. The production was originally scheduled to open on Monday, October 15. Ticket holders for all canceled shows are being accommodated on later dates. Previews are scheduled to resume on Thursday, October 4.

Producers Janet B. Rosen and Christina Papagjika will present two invitation-only staged readings of the hit Off-Broadway musical In Transit on Friday, October 12, 2012. Tony Award-winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies) will direct the reading of the musical that features book, music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, James-Allen Ford, Russell Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth.

Tony nominee Raul Esparza will play the recurring role of "DA Rafael Barba" on Law & Order: SVU beginning on Wednesday, October 10. The episode, titled "Twenty-Five Acts," centers on the author of a best-selling erotic novel (Anna Chlumsky) who accuses a high-profile talk show host (Roger Bart) of rape. The SVU detectives face an uphill battle when they find that her account of the rape is exactly like the chapters in her book, and along with the DA's office (Esparza), they struggle to keep the case from turning into a media circus.

Now according to the New York Times, the United States attorney's office is investigating whether the investor ever existed in the first place. Sprecher told NYT: "I never made up or fabricated any investor, and I never made up Paul Abrams." He also revealed that a new production of Rebecca is in the works that he 'hoped to mount soon, on Broadway or elsewhere.'

On the heels of winning its first premiere week in the A18-49 demographic in nine years, NBC has picked up three of its new fall series - the adventure-drama 'Revolution' and the comedies 'Go On' and 'The New Normal' -- for full-season commitments for the 2012-13 season, it was announced today by Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment.

Theatre Communications Group has just realeased a list of the most-produced playwrights of the upcoming 2012-13 season, and topping the list is David Lindsay-Abaire, with 19 productions. Also on the list were: Matthew Lopez (15), David Mamet (15), Donald Margulies (15), Bruce Norris (15), August Wilson (14), Katori Hall (13), Brian Yorkey/Tom Kitt (13), David Ives (11), John Logan (11), Ken Ludwig (11).

According to the Associated Press, Broadway vet Christine Ebersole will star in 'The Wolf of Wall Street,' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Martin Scorsese will direct the film, in which she will star as DiCaprio's mother.

The producers of A Christmas Story, The Musical will present the November 5 -December 30 Broadway engagement at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Following a nationwide search, Johnny Rabe will don Ralphie's trademark spectacles. John Bolton (Spamalot, Contact, Titanic, "Boardwalk Empire," "Gossip Girl') will reprise his acclaimed performance as The Old Man from the 2011 National Tour. Joining Bolton will be Tony Award nominee Erin Dilly (Nice Work if You Can Get It, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Mother, Zac Ballard (Oliver! at Irish Repertory Theatre) as little brother Randy, Caroline O'Connor (Chicago, Moulin Rouge) as school teacher Miss Shields, and Eddie Korbich (The Little Mermaid, The Drowsy Chaperone, Wicked) as Santa Claus.
