Lights up on Washington Heights this Thursday! Lin-Manuel Miranda's epic musical at last hits the big screen this week and theatre fans everywhere are getting ready for a long overdue musical trip uptown. Gregory Diaz IV, who plays Sonny in the film, can't wait for the world to see it.

It won't be long now! In the Heights hits the big screen in a matter of hours, and when it does,  the world will get to celebrate the joy of Lin-Manuel's first big musical. But Broadway fans remember that long before the film, In the Heights took the New York theatre scene by storm. Quiara Alegría Hudes was a part of that original team as the musical's book writer, and she returned this time to adapt the screenplay.

Long before he brought us Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda rocked Broadway with his first mega-hit- In the Heights. Now, fourteen years after it premiered off-Broadway, the beloved musical is changing the world from the big screen in a glorious adaptation with a screenplay co-written by Miranda himself.
