Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of 'Bring It On: The Musical' took part in a celebration kicking off the ation tour of the musical on October 22, 2011. Also there were cheer squads from Narbonne High School (Harbor City), Mira Mesa High School (San Diego), Hart High School (Santa Clarita) and Santa Monica High School (Santa Monica); dance squads from St. Genevieve High School (Panorama City) and Los Alamitos High School (Los Alamitos); Glendale Community College's cheer squad, UCA cheer and dance instructors and a pep band. Guest hosts included KIIS FM's JoJo, Telemundo's Jorge Bernal and Hannah of 'The Glee Project.'

The DIY Trunk Show, featuring 129 area artists, presented by the Chicago Craft Mafia, is one of the longest-running indie, craft shows in Chicago, now in its ninth year. Admission is FREE. The DIY Trunk Show will partner with Wishcraft to provide a kids crafting area, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 4 and up. Complete artist list below. Free on-site workshops include Blue Buddha Boutique's earrings or zipper pull decorations (one per person). The new work conceived and directed by Tommy Tune and written by Mark Saltzman, originally titled FOREVER 54, will now be titled FIFTY FOUR FOREVER. It will receive its world premiere at The University of Miami's Jerry Herman Ring Theatre, from November 9 to 19.
