Psychedelic Turkish folk rock group Altin Gün are set to launch their first-ever U.S. tour. The group recently released their sophomore album Gece via ATO Records. The record has received praise fromNPR, Aquarium Drunkard, MOJO, Uncut, and The Guardian. The Amsterdam-based six-member band are inspired by Turkish folk and psychedelia from the 60s & 70s, re-interpreting Anatolian rock and folk music and opening the doors between traditional Turkish folk songs and psych.

BendFilm announced today that legendary writer and director Ron Shelton will screen his 1988 directorial debut, Bull Durham, and moderate the 'First Features' panel as part of his role as First Features Honoree at the 16th annual BendFilm Festival. Shelton's illustrious career also includes films such as Blaze, White Men Can't Jump, Cobb, Tin Cup, and Hollywood Homicide. Shelton's work spans four decades with more than ten screenwriting and writer/director credits to his name. First Features honorees from past Festivals include John Sayles & Maggie Renzi (2016), Peter Gilbert (2017) and Debra Granik (2018).

IFC and Lakeshore Records announced today that three-time Emmy-nominated series Documentary Now! has taken its commitment to the comedic artform to new extremes. 'Original Cast Album: Co-op,' the meticulously crafted and 2019 Emmy-nominated episode about the cast album recording of the 1970 'Broadway musical' Co-op, will release its long-awaited Original Cast Album digitally on July 26, with proceeds donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The original cast album will include the soon-to-be Marie's Crisis classics 'Holiday Party (I Did a Little Cocaine Tonight),' which will be available as an instant grat track on all preorders beginning Friday, July 19, and solo anthem 'I Gotta Go,' both sure to bring piano bar patrons to their feet with every rising note. The Highwomen—a new collaborative movement formed by Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires—officially launches today with the release of the group's debut single, “Redesigning Women.”

Gina Torres has boarded romantic comedy THE HATING GAME, joining previously announced leads Lucy Hale and Robbie Amell. Peter Hutchings (THEN CAME YOU) will direct Christina Mengert's adaptation of the bestselling novel by Sally Thorne. The film is produced by Claude Dal Farra, Brice Dal Farra, and Brian Keady of BCDF Pictures. Shooting starts in August in New York. Mister Smith Entertainment is co-financing and will handle sales.
