Beau Higgins - Page 116

Beau Higgins Currently spending his time between New York and Florida, Beau was born to a theatrical family in Brooklyn. He studied drama at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and at HB Studios. He studied theater singing with Julia Sperratore and Helen Gallagher. Beau later taught drama at the Lincoln Center Square for the Arts. It was at this time Beau began working with the Theater Development Fund and helped found New York's famed HALF PRICE TICKET BOOTH. Early in his career, Beau was screen tested and contracted for Warner Brothers. He co-hosted, an early cable variety series on Manhattan's Teleprompter channel. At this time he directed the Johnny Specca musical, SEX IS..? at the Lincoln Center Library Theater. Beau has performed Off-Broadway in FAT FELL DOWN, The Comic Strip Theater's LITTLE LULU AND THE INVISIBLE INK and WILL THE REAL ZOOPERMAN PLEASE STAND UP. Around the country he has delighted audiences with his performances in ANYTHING GOES, THE APPLE TREE, GUYS & DOLLS, and HELLZAPOPPIN! He sang for New York audiences at such cabarets as The Duplex and Upstairs at the Downstairs. He has had numerous television appearances but is most proud to have been a winning contestant on the game shows JACKPOT and THE $20,000 PYRAMID.




JERSEY BOYS Premiere Miami Engagement At The Arsht

Casting has been announced for the premiere Miami engagement of the Tony®, Grammy® and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, playing at the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County from March 2 - 20, 2011. The cast of JERSEY BOYS will be led by Matt Bailey (Tommy DeVito), Joseph Leo Bwarie (Frankie Valli), Michael Lomenda (Nick Massi) and Quinn VanAntwerp (Bob Gaudio) as The Four Seasons, with Jonathan Hadley and Joseph Siravo.

'Cirque Dreams Broadway' Auditions At Broward Center February 12th

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is holding auditions for singers to perform alongside world-class Cirque Dreams athletes, performance artists and Broadway's biggest stars in the March 24 world premiere of Cirque Dreams Broadway directed by Neil Goldberg. Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

RESPECT, which has been continuously evolving since its debut as a one-woman show in 1999, is an entertaining, exuberant and exhilarating look at the lives of women as reflected in the popular music of the 20th Century. The show ran for over a year at the Cuillo Centre for the Arts in West Palm Beach and for six months at the Stage Door 26th Street Theatre in Fort Lauderdale, before ‘going on the road' and playing in multiple cities across the United States - including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Detroit, Green Bay and Minneapolis. RESPECT has also ‘gone international' - playing to enthusiastic houses in Melbourne and Brisbane Australia. This production arrives in Coral Springs fresh from a 20 week engagement in Philadelphia, and 8 sold out weeks in Phoenix.

'Grey Gardens, The Musical' South Florida Premiere

Based on the highly acclaimed 1975 Maysles Brothers film documentary, it is the story of Jackie Kennedy's relatives 'Big Edie' Bouvier Beale and her adult daughter 'Little Edie' and the overgrown, crumbling East Hampton mansion they shared for decades. Set at the Grey Gardens mansion, the musical follows the progression of the lives of the two Edies from their original social status as wealthy and polished aristocrats in the 1940's to their eventual existence as penniless eccentrics in a crumbling home. But, the real focus is clearly on the unending psychological struggle between a mother and a daughter. The story is joyous, heartwarming, sad, and funny.

New American Theater Changes With The Season

NAT has set up a complete series of cabaret shows and adjusted the remainder of their mainstage season. They postponed the show 'A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline', originally set to open this weekend, to February 2012. Their next mainstage production, Songs for a New World, has moved up in the line up. The final two shows of the mainstage season have not been announced, as NAT is in the process of securing the rights to these productions. The biggest change is that all shows, cabaret and mainstage, will be presented at their BayWalk location (previously the Ann Taylor store).
