Punk the Beat! Let's W_ack! is a workshop series teaching Punking and W_acking, two forms of club dance born from the underground Queer dancefloors of the Black and Latinx communities of Los Angeles. Participants learn from eight members of Burn City W_ack, a Naarm/Melbourne dance community with over a decade of experience and battle titles from around the world. The series runs from May 7 through June 27 at Arts Centre Melbourne's The Show Room, culminating in a community showcase jam with themed performances and dance battles on Saturday, June 27.
