MILF and Cookies at Melbourne Trades Hall Festival Hub

‘MILF and Cookies’, written and performed by Marilyn Leder, is a comedy and song smackdown of marriage, divorce, dating, antisemitism and smashing through the comedy boys club. As part of Melbourne Fringe Festival, the show is the much anticipated follow-up to Marilyn's smash hit live comedy show, 'The MILF Next Door'. After surviving divorce and dalliances with younger men, Marilyn dated a narcissist, turned to artificial intelligence for relationship advice - ChatGPT love bombed her and made her dump him. She turned the trauma into a tight set, a few killer songs and smashed through the comedy boys club - now she's got the mic, a great pair of lungs, and the last word. Heartbroken, harassed and hilariously underestimated, Marilyn finds her voice in the chaos. In 'MILF and Cookies', she's raw, fearless, and funny as hell. ‘MILF and Cookies’ - Baked Fresh. Served Hot. Dramaturgy by multi-award winning Geraldine Quinn (Spicks and Specks, RocKwiz, BROAD)

Directed by Jeremy Stanford (Priscilla, Queen of the Dessert - Musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

Marilyn Leder has shared the stage with Chris Rock in L.A., toured Australasia in ‘Buddy-The Buddy Holly Story’ musical and has worked in script development for ABC Comedy and NBC Television in the heyday of ‘Seinfeld’, ‘Frasier’ and ‘Friends’. University lecturer by day, Marilyn’s 2022 debut solo show, ‘The MILF Next Door’ was a MICF and Fringe Festival knockout and in 2023 she toured with critically acclaimed comedy, 'Tight Mums, Loose Units', receiving an Arts South Australia grant. Marilyn is a 2023 Raw Comedy Honourable Mention. ‘Raunchy, action-packed, and full of laughs’ - The Age ‘Pure comic genius!' - Tim Ferguson (Doug Anthony All Stars) 'Hilarious' - Arts Hub 'Immaculate theatre making ... electric and funny ... emboldening and exciting’ - Praise Dionysus ‘Challenges behavioural limitations that long-term marriage and motherhood place on women’ – The Age/ Sydney Morning Herald
