The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's Chinese New Year Concert returns to celebrate the Year of the Goat, conducted by Dane Lam with percussionist Le Yu on marimba. The program blends Chinese and Western masterworks, including Ye Xiaogang's concerto Cranes Chirping, Li Huanzhi's Spring Festival Overture, and Ye Xiaogang's The Backyard of the Village. The Western canon features Richard Strauss' Don Juan, Dvořák's Carnival Overture, and Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio Espagnol.
