Arts Centre Melbourne to Celebrate 30 years of Morning Melodies at Christmas Concert

Arts Centre Melbourne's acclaimed daytime entertainment program Morning Melodies is pulling out even more stops for its Christmas concert this year as it celebrates 30 years of performances. The popular Christmas Melodies on 14 December will feature musical theatre star Kane Alexander, opera soprano Teresa Duddy, The Salvation Army Melbourne Staff Band and The National Boys Choir of Australia.

Melbourne Theatre Company opens its 2016 season in glittering fashion with the glorious new musical Ladies in Black, a celebration of glamour, gowns and growing up in 1950s Australia. Adapted from the Madeleine St John novel, The Women in Black, and brought to life by director Simon Phillips with songs by Tim Finn (Split Enz, Crowded House), this QTC production opens on Wednesday 20 January at Southbank Theatre, The Sumner.

The humble cabbage is transformed into the sickening sound of a dead body falling to the floor. A hot water bottle becomes the screech of an escaping car. This is Radio Variety Hour: three radio serial dramas brought to life on stage that must be seen (err… heard…) to be believed.
