Sagittarius Ponderosa is a lyrical exploration of identity, transformation, and the deep-rooted truths of family and nature. When Archer (still called Angela by his family) returns to his rural Oregon home to care for his ailing father, he’s drawn back into a world of shifting identities and interconnected growth. Old wounds resurface, family roles are questioned, and the familiar landscape seems to shift beneath his feet. Beneath the ancient Ponderosa Pine, Archer encounters a mysterious stranger who speaks for the forest and the forgotten, opening the door to a metamorphosis that redefines memory, love, and selfhood. Staged in a three-quarter thrust with audience seating on three sides, this production blurs the boundary between world and story. Trees expand into the house, the scent of pine drifts through the air, and lighting glimmers like moonlight through branches. Everyday objects—tables, chairs, familiar spaces—are softened with moss and earth, merging the practical with the natural. The result is an atmosphere that feels both enchanted and lived-in, inviting audiences into a forest where transformation takes root.
