MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET Holds Open Casting Call Today, 6/27

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the hit musical with productions in New York, Chicago and touring across North America, is launching a national casting search seeking musicians/actors for the roles of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins for future replacements and understudies for the Chicago and touring productions. An open casting call will be held in AUSTIN, TX - today, June 27 (11 AM - 3 PM) at the Long Center for the Performing Arts (701 West Riverside Drive).

This unique program brings New York's Broadway talent to Texas, serving as an incubator for the development of new musicals by professional artists. The creative team of Giant Steps: An Urbean Musical has been invited to include their new musical as part of the workshop this year.

On June 9th, crowds gathered at Zilker Hillside Theater for a free performance from the Austin Civic Orchestra. "The History of the March" was the subject of the evening. Verdi and Beethoven were on the program. There was even a bit of John Williams and his "Raiders of the Lost Ark" anthem. A guest conductor was also slated to appear. However, who the guest conductor was would not be known until the end of the performance.

It all started with a book written by a genius named Victor Hugo. Today, 150 years later, the story lives on in the musical, LES MISÉRABLES. Its recent run in Austin, Texas was a complete sell-out as it has been wherever it goes. Seeing it one time is fabulous, but seeing it multiple times from different angles helps you to really understand the story, the theatrics and the massive talent performing on the stage.

Max Quinlan is currently starring as Marius in the 25th Anniversary U.S. National Tour of LES MISÉRABLES. Max has been with the show for 16 months. He has been playing Marius for 7 months. Max grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and got started in theatre at a very young age. He made his professional debut at 12 in Ragtime. Max attended the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music and got his degree in Music Theatre. He moved to New York and was lucky to get the chance to audition for Les Mis and has been on the road ever since.
