ACL Coverage: The Avett Brothers

Enjoying Austin City Limits (ACL) Festival, brought many exciting musicians together in one place. It was fun to check out the schedule and check out who I wanted to see. Many bands to choose from so little time. But, I knew for sure I wanted to see The Avett Brothers. They are one of my top favorite bands for many reasons but mostly because of the great blend of talent that has come together in this band. They seem to have great chemistry onstage and took turns sharing the spotlight. With their harmonies and use of many different instruments, it made the show very entertaining. The Avett Brothers consist of Scott Avett - Vocals, Banjo, Kick Drum, Seth Avett - Vocals, Guitar, High-Hat, Bob Crawford - Vocals, Bass, Paul Defiglia - Keyboard, Organ, Tania Elizabeth - Violin, Joe Kwon - Cello and Mike Marsh - Drums. There were many favorite songs of the Avett Brothers sung but the ones that I enjoyed the most had to be the gospel number they did a capella as well as a real crowd favorite, "I And Love And You." The cello solos by Joe and banjo numbers seemed to be a favorite with the crowds. And the crowds consisted of people of all ages including college students and baby boomers. Surely entertaining for everyone who attended this fast-paced electrifying performance by The Avett Brothers.

Check out one of their songs here and be sure to check out The Avett Brothers' website and pick up some of their great music too.
