freeFall's 2017/18 season begins with an all-new adaptation of White Fang, written and directed by Jethro Compton. Based in the UK, Compton and his Production Company are well known for creating bold, narrative driven theatrical experiences that often present highly cinematic re-imaginings of classic stories for the stage. freeFall Theatre Company and Jethro Compton Productions are co-producing this new vision of a literary classic right here in St. Petersburg. Local audiences will be the first to experience this world premiere before it heads to London for a run at The Park Theatre in December 2017.

1898. Northwestern Canada. Deep in the forests of the Yukon Territory. After the massacre of her tribe, a young girl is rescued from the snow by an old huntsman from a nearby settlement who offers shelter and the strength to survive. Torn from centuries of tradition, facing a new and violent land, she struggles to find her path in the world. An outsider to all, she discovers hope in the friendship of an abandoned wolf, White Fang. With this newfound alliance, the two unite with the land, learning the ways of her ancestors. Lethal with blade and bow, there are few who can match her skill in the wild. But when the time comes, and she faces the greatest challenge of all, will these skills be enough to make a difference? Will they be enough to survive?

"We are thrilled to have an opportunity to present such a notable world premiere to Tampa Bay audiences before it transfers to London. This all-new play premiering in St. Petersburg continues to prove that our city is an arts destination." - Matthew McGee, freeFall's Outreach/Marketing Director

White Fang stars Jen Diaz as Lyzbet Scott. Hannah Benitez, Daniel Schwab, Michael Mahoney, Alan Mohney, Jr. and Robert Johnston round out the cast. Michael Raabe returns to freeFall as Musical Director, while writer/director Jethro Compton designs the set. freeFall Artistic Director Eric Davis is puppetry designer.
