Rachelle Spector, singer and wife of imprisoned record producer Phil Spector, told The Hollywood Reporter while discussing David Mamet's HBO film Phil Spector that she is working on a Broadway musical about her husband's life.

"It's in the beginning stages now, but we're writing the book, the screenplay," she told THR. "It's going to show a whole different side of my husband. My main focus is going to be on his career and how he changed music...There are a lot of people who, as you know, don't like my husband, so the music is really going to dictate the direction I go for the musical."

Phil Spector was convicted of the 2003 murder of Lana Clarkson in 2009 and is currently in the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison at Corcoran, serving 19 years to life.

Rachelle married Spector in 2006 and manages his companies and estate, as well as her own record label and publishing company. Rachelle just released a song about her husband, "PS I Love You", which will be followed by an EP this spring.

Academy Award winners Al Pacino and Helen Mirren star in HBO Films' Phil Spector. Written and directed by Pulitzer Prize-winning and Oscar-nominated playwright David Mamet, the film is Mamet's exploration of the client-attorney relationship between legendary music producer Phil Spector (Pacino) and defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden (Mirren), who represented Spector during his first trial for murder. It debuts tonight, March 24th, on HBO.
